So apparently eBay has no interest in ensuring its sellers maintain a minimum level of integrity, either with their listings or sorting issues post sale. And now it is impossible to find a method to reach a support agent to request assistance on issues that do not fall exactly within a very limited set of scenarios. 🤬

Unfortunately, the risks of having a poor experience on eBay is so high now I'm concerned about making any purchases.

However, on the plus side, I feel quite confident I'll be able to get away with lying, cheating, stealing, making false claims, and simply showing no sense of integrity as a seller... so all is not lost. 👍

Is there a reason you cannot read the item descriptions and check seller feedback before you buy?

Or use the advice given by other members on the other link you commented on to 'check the quick way'

Or to use the tools eBay give all buyers if something does go wrong?

Posting in community feedback will not get your post read by eBay

And other members have already tried to help as best they can on the other threads about this

Since buyers have ALL the power, I am not sure where you get your comments from

That and the fact your feedback as a buyer shows you have been choosing sellers in China with questionable feedback for some time as a matter of habit. Even the one in Australia with 45 negs in the past month alone

No worries

You will find most people here give factual responses

That many negs is very good reason to run a mile

They are not 'reviews' (reviews are for products, not sellers)

The neg feedback tells what the seller is like

Given your original complaint

You make the choice to buy from sellers who are clearly shown as registered overseas and who clearly have horrible feedback

You say you can 'only be expected to do so much as a buyer'

All that any buyer needs to do

Caring enough about who you buy from to actually look for yourself

It takes a couple of seconds

So yes, the issue is with you for not taking the very simple step to look at the feedback pages

Buyers are responsible for their own buying choices

And no, I do not work for eBay

Nor do I support dodgy sellers

@brianwreaves wrote:

It is not productive to spend your time trying to contact agents.

A lot of ebay is automated.

You have to consider what you want to achieve and I wasn't sure from your post just what that was.

If you are trying to contact an agent to get that seller booted off ebay, save your breath. Probably won't happen unless a seller is an out and out scammer or it is a hijacked account or something of that nature.

If you are trying to contact an agent because you have received a faulty item and want a resolution (refund), then you can solve this yourself. Open a proper ebay claim for item not as described. You're not after a replacement when you do this, you're after a full refund. Whatever you do, don't fall for the trap of accepting a seller offer of a replacement if you close the case.

Usually ebay will side with a buyer. Make your claim simple. Not as described, faulty etc

Follow through with your claim.

It isn't always easy to tell where a seller is located, not at first glance. As a buyer, look after your own interests and if you are tempted by an ad, click on seller name and feedback score.

It should take you to a page where there are drop down menus that say something like shop/about/feedback.

The 'about' tab will tell you seller location. Yes, it is a little bit of a rigmarole, but it is worth doing.

Some of these chinese sellers will list their stuff as in Australia. Maybe it is in a warehouse here but sometimes it is not and gets sent direct from China. If it is electrical stuff, it may not have passed Australian standards and might not be safe.

So be wary, always check seller location as well as item location. You'll usually have a better experience the more informed you are.

As for feedback, some people here say look for about 99.5% or over for a big seller. I am a bit more lenient but I always check the negs and neutrals to see if there is a pattern. If there is, move on to another seller.

With your current ad, I understand what you are trying to do and the ad does have menu to choose quantity.

What I would do is change the title. Just advertise as Appleimac etc for parts only. Don't mention 2 in the title.

Then in the actual ad, you can state that you actually have 2 available, $50 for one or a discount if you want both.

By way of a PS.

If you are trying to bring it to ebay's attention that the seller is not responsive to problems, or wrongly describes products, then opening a 'not as described' claim is definitely the best way to go.

The seller will have to refund you and ebay has systems that will keep tabs on the seller's performance. Too many of these 'not as described' claims against the seller by buyers and I think the seller's account may face penalties if it falls below standard.
