Well Done Australia Post!

Haven't been posting anything in satchels since last wednesday because of no bubblewrap, was expecting my 100metres of the bubbly stuff to arrive late last week

Today i had enough and bought some. Then the seller replied to my email this arvo saying my bubblewrap has been sitting at my Post Office since last Thursday - they did not even leave a card in my PO Box

So after a 'heated' discussion, I got reimbursed for my $7 roll I paid out this morning. It is something good to come out of it, but they found out quickly I was not happy. I told them if I did not email the seller, it would have just sat there and then eventually be returned to the seller.

Australia Post also need to tell their trainees to slide things through the 2cm gauge and not just assume it wont fit too. Today I avoided the trainee and let the lady behind me go to her, I was nice 🙂

If I didn't have a PO Box and was waitign for a parcel that size, I'd be checking with my Po before I checked with the seller.

As it was obviously sent with tracking, didn't the seller give you the tracking number?

There wasnt one in the checkout but I knew the seller always sends by eparcel and he gave me the tracking number so I can print it out and take it into my post office

I posted two paecels on the 31st Dec. 2012 by registered mail.

One to Qld. and one to SA from Vic. country town.

Yesterday the Qld. one was marked delivered and the SA one "in transit"

I had messages from both receivers that the parcels have arrived early in the day.

I just checked the SA number, and it still says "in transit" 35 hours after it had been delivered.

Privatisation of Australia Post has made a big dint in APs reputation. ?:|

Took a whole week for a parcel to arrive from melbourne to here, always usually takes 2 days. I think AP are a bit slow at the moment

Last week, I received two cards on the same day for a parcel awaiting collection in my PO - the first, standard card and the final notice card, as apparently the parcel had been awaiting collection for days... 😐 (there's no eye roll smiley, so that'll have to do).

On the whole, though, my PO is pretty good.

I think the price we pay for deliveries isa bit high. I know nothing of the delivery system but surely they can do a better job.

How much would it taketo become a major shareholder in AP ?? IMO it shouldn't be a public company anyway... the government cant run anything eficiently so maybe it shouldbe.

My AP store is good though for most things, except for the people that dont have a clue.

In the end, as sellers (or buyers too), we're all generally paying the same postal fees. It may differ by a dollar here or there but most sellers post things at about the same cost. I've found AusPost to be great in both buying and selling. Can't remember one thing ever being lost buying or selling.

It is a long time since I paid for bubble wrap, there are plenty of stores who are more than happy for you to take it away as it saves them money disposing of it. Same with packing beads and polystyrene.

And I am not talking dirty, torn stuff, it all looks as good as new.
