seller being difficult

Just wanted to come on here to warn everyone to not get on a seller's bad side. This seller was triggered by me cancelling my bid (due to finding the product cheaper elsewhere), and proceeded to verbally harrass me.

I then proceeded to APOLOGISE and PAY for said product. He has since ignored me. I paid for the product on the 12th of April, the estimated delivery was latest TODAY and it still hasnt been posted (its a domestic delivery mind you).

Still no response from him. I have reported his account and his pathetic language. Literally a thief that is trying to steal my money, all over a lego set… pathetic.

You don't get to cancel a purchase, you can request to cancel but only the seller can and is under no obligation too.

So yes it was on you, and then you go and breach the forum rules. Ah well your post will be edited or totally removed, and your venting will have achieved nothing.

did you miss out the part where i said i apologised and paid? My issue is that fact that he is scamming me? I paid for the product, by law I should either recieve it or recieve a full refund. This is in no shape or form on me. I also didnt breach anything, i reported the whole thing to ebay and they havent reprimanded me at all.

Kyle's replies were rude and not wise, he didn't handle it well.

But he started off okay, I think you are the one who triggered him, not vice versa.

You obviously don't know how ebay works. Bids are binding.

You cannot blithely say to a seller that it is too bad, you found it cheaper elsewhere.

In other words, you can't cancel.

A seller can cancel but you'd have to ask nicely, not demand. You were quite rude too.

What kyle should have done was not reply at all and after 4 days, just filed an item not paid claim.

Kyle is right, that would have got you a strike. Get 2 of those strikes within 6 months to a year and you'd find yourself unable to buy at all from quite a feww sellers.

What you don't realise is when you commit to buy, the seller is charged commission by ebay straight away, even though the buyer has not paid. They then have to go through a process to claim the fees back if there is no payment. So you're causing a seller extra work if they have to cancel or claim. That's partly why Kyle was upset, plus you've taken his listing down from ebay where it may have sold to someone else in the meantime.

However, Kyle has shot himself in the foot with this. He should have just let it go through to an unpaid claim or else cancelledd because now that he has not sent it, you can make a claim for a refund.

But before you go blithely bidding on any other items on ebay, please read up the help pages about buying and do your research before you bid, not afterwards.

1. As everyone has posted here, you cannot cancel a bid after you’ve won the auction. And if you mean you purchased the item at a Buy Now price, it wasn’t a bid; it was a purchase… and you as the buyer can’t cancel that. The seller may cancel if you don’t want to pay but it is not obligatory for him to do so.

2. The seller could have - and I think should have - just waited without reminding you to pay. If you hadn’t paid, he’d have cancelled with the reason Buyer Didn’t Pay. That’s one strike.

3. Why did you post those personal communications here, complete with seller’s username? The forum guidelines in fact explicitly state that you cannot do that. As said, a moderator is going to remove all of that.

4. The screenshots don’t do you any credit. Both of you were insulting each other and shade-posting at night; it doesn’t reflect well on either of you. Best if you’d kept that to yourself anyway.

5. Now that you have paid, seller does have an obligation to send the item to you. Are you sure that the seller’s not refunded you? If not, then - as already posted here - you should simply open an INR case after the latest estimated date has passed, and sans proof of postage and delivery from the seller, you’ll be refunded.

You were also abusive, seems that is ok though

You cannot cancel, only the seller can and they don't have to accept 'I found it cheaper elsewhere'

Don't make fake purchases and you won't have an issue

Welcome to many party lists I'd imagine

Your aim to 'warn' other members about what happens if you make a fake purchase and then abuse the seller, but complain when the seller abuses back, and inability to abide by both ebay and forum rules allows seller here to adjust their blocked list

Nobody wants to risk dealing with that

i think everyone here is completely skipping over the part where i literally apologised for cancelling and paid for the product, the fixation on me cancelling initially is wild, i apologised and PAID. This guy is literally withholding a product I paid for, he is in the wrong not me

5. I want the product I paid for but I am not going to do business with someone who is this immature, I have reported him to eBay, and unlike everyone here defending him, they have given him a strike for his language and lodged a ban on his account should he not resolve the issues

And yes i am warning others because he is withholding a product I PAID FOR and refusing to give MY MONEY back, ridiculous

There's absolutely no way of you knowing what eBay have, or haven't done. For what it's worth, you might as well say eBay has given him 6 pink elephants and a bag of hens teeth 🤣🤣

I have been in constant contact with them and they have directly said that they will give him a strike for his language and a ban should he not respond by the 24th of April. So yeah, there is a way. Its not a few dollars, its nearly 100, they’re taking it seriously.

You were advised yesterday to open a claim with ebay for a refund.

yeah the first part has been made quite clear, im not asking for people to defend me, and also i dont understand how im being immature? I literally apologised? Does that mean nothing to anyone these days? Hes the immature one for letting his feelings get in the way of his obligation as a seller to either send the product or issue a refund.

Yep, Triggered the abuse, ebays policies and the forum rules apparently don't apply to them, was also abusive to the seller, and likes to tell people they can't read.

They did not breach the forum rules, Right!!, thats why the sellers name and all attachments were removed, but hey nothing is their fault because they said sorry.

Hopefully ebays intention to make buyers supply a means of payment before bidding, so ebay can enforce payment of highest bids, will be active shortly and will eliminate such buyers.
