Counter offers issue.

Why does the Ebay platform allow sellers to send a counter offer that is higher than the original listed or "buy it now" price. Shouldn't the software pickup that the counter offer is higher than the listed price?.........and stop this from happening.

It picks up all other errors when you go to make a listing.

I could be wrong but I presume a seller is able to counter with any price they choose.

You are free to ignore any price you don't like.

I guess for the same reason they allow buyers to send offensive, low ball offers

Shouldn't it pick up it is a $200 item and stop $10 offers from happening?

Seller would then have every right to counter with an offer of $250 in that situation

You would need to ask eBay if you want an eBay answer

😂I was just about to say i had had this happen to me, only I couldn't remember the explanation for how it happened. Just that it could.

And amaruss, yes, it is a bit weird (as a buyer) when it happens!
