The picture on ebay is of Makita batteries.

This is NOT what has been sent to me.

This seller is cheating me.

How do I get my money back????

You only need to follow the correct eBay procedure if what you received is not what is described

open and follow through with an item not as described dispute

BUT their listings state FOR brands, NOT a brand. This seller does not sell or advertise real brand names. They are not authorised to sell the brand you mention

They sell generic, knock off death trap batteries which is why the listings specify *for* the actual ‘brand’ Is in the description

They are also registered in China with awful feedback and the battery you purchased is a serious hazard, not compliant with Australian safety standards

As other members cannot see anything from the order number, what is the item number for the listing that says it is an actual Makita battery and shows a photo of one?

Nothing is showing when I look at their listings, they are all listed as *for* and show non brand names they generic rubbish

Also note that even if you took the time to read all of eBay's 'recent' announcements about safety and their supposedly new updated Product Safety page as from February 2026

"We don't allow items that could harm buyers or pose health or safety risks. That includes items that are banned, recalled or don't meet safety regulations"

The following types of items are not allowed:

Items that have been recalled by a manufacturer or government agency
Items that are prohibited by law or regulation, including products failing to comply with Australian mandatory safety standards or which are subject to a product ban in Australia

It's all rubbish.

It literally took me two minutes to find different items that were recalled / banned in Australia 3 years ago.

and all the very dangerous items, like yours, that don't pass mandatory Australian Safety Standards are still listed.

Buyers think they're buying safe products.

But eBay does nothing about these Chinese sellers who sell dangerous items that don't comply with mandatory Australian Safety Standards

eBay even promotes these shonky sellers as "Top Rated Sellers"

Go to your Purchase History page and open a return request

Reason > Item Not As Described

Description > Faulty

This will open a case under eBay's Money Back Guarantee
