??? Item was displayed at 9.30am for $1.00 with 0 bids & needed a start-off. So I placed a bid for $1.25. I was immediately out-bid to $1.50. The amount is not the issue. It is the fact that I the display was showing I was supposedly the first to bid but was instantaneously replaced by an automatic bid (that had been initiated 5 hours prior). How can an automatic bid be sitting unseen, while the item was showing as 0 bids??

Yeh I had the same thing happen a couple days ago on a chook shed. I bid on 4 from the same seller all with 0 bids then it went straight to another bidders bids. Very strange

I am confused, are you the buyer or the seller? If you are the buyer I don't know why you would want to kick start the bidding and if you are the seller then bidding on your own item is a serious policy breach which can get you kicked off ebay for good.
