I am having the same problem. I signed into my account and there was the notification of the voucher. I bought something and can't use the code! It won't work....

I have also tried to use it and it doesn't work,I have sent ebay a nice email telling them what I think.I am also stuck with buying a few things as not all the sellers believed me when I told them that the code was invalid.Thanks alot ebay for your invalid vouchers!

I am currently talking with Live Chat and have just been told that it's an 'advertisement'!! I told him that means we are being tricked into buying items!!

Saw the voucher on a listing and thinking it was genuine I made the purchase.

It didn't work! Too good to be true.

I received the voucher but haven't tried to use it yet.

Have you read the Terms and Conditions? Do you use the same email address for eBay and PayPal?

The voucher is linked to your eBay ID and your PayPal account must have the same email address. You can always add extra email addresses to PayPal if needed.

If it's an advertisment then why is it in the payment section of every item that's for sale? This is a blatant trick on ebays behalf, this is not exceptable and ebay should remove it before more buyers get caught up in their scam.

Don't try to use it as it doesn't work.All my family members also thought that they would get the $10 discount and all of them have been told that it's invalid as it's an ADVERTISMENT ONLY.Now we are all trying to plead with the sellers to cancel our transactions after telling them what has happened.

The offer now shows on all 3 of my families accounts. When I click on an item it even says $10 off! Are you sure that you paid using a mobile app and the same email addresses. I thought it was too good to be true!

None of us have yet actually paid for anything but we all clicked the pay now button and then when we all put in the code we we're told that it is invalid.But by this stage we the buyers have committed to buy the item so the transaction then is in the process of you the buyer needing to pay for the item.So the only thing to do is you need to contact the seller/s and ask to have it cancelled which is what needs to be done in my case.

Well I have had no luck with any of the sellers as they told me that it's not their fault so I have no choice but to buy the items otherwise I will get a non payment strike.I think that this is a great lesson learnt not to believe that a voucher is actually a voucher and that I think you should only be committed to buy if the voucher is valid and not before you input the code so maybe ebay should have a look at doing something about that.

Pretty dodgy of ebay if it is just an "advertisement". Why tell me to enjoy my $10 off and give me the code if it is just an ad?

The voucher is valid for use between 00:00:01 AEST 25th September 2013 and 23:59:59 AEDST 3rd October 2013 ("the Promotional Period"). Any voucher which is not redeemed by 23:59:59 AEST 3rd October 2013 will cease to be valid.

This voucher is linked to your eBay UserID. The transactions must be completed with the eBay UserID specified in the invitation email in order to redeem the voucher.

That qualifies as neither an advertisement, puffery or an invitation to the world at large.

eBay are telling porkies.

This redemption code cannot be used because it is already linked to another eBay account.

Just asked eBay, this is their response:

The red box you see on the listing itself is an advertisement for the promotion.

The account that will qualify for the vouchers are those account that purchased an item using the eBay app between Sept 4-10, 2013.
