Shipment Times US=Slow UK+Fast why differnce?

Just very curious I have bought few parcels lately (Not just ebay but elsewhere) from the US and seems take forever get to OZ

But get parcels from UK or else where in the EU & seems blink & I got it.

Both in effect normal air mail why on earth such a massive time frame differnce in Receveing?

Because they are different countries with different postal systems, many thousands of kilometres apart?

Wherever you are in the UK you are not too far from a main collection centre we are a pretty small island after all, in the US those distances can be vast.

Mail from the UK also depends on the service used and can be variable anyway, I have received parcels within 4 days and others have taken 4 weeks.

The USA has increased their security measures yet again, and are (supposedly) checking EVERY parcel sent through their system....

this is adding weeks to delivery times and creating a huge backlog.

Current delivery times are stretching beyond 4 weeks for me - it's

driving me to despair trying to get my Christmas stock into Australia

I purchased 2 items at the same time from the UK and the US.

The UK one arrived in a week, a week later the US one has not arrived and has been 2 weeks

Recently made a US purchase. So far tracking has shown 5 separate events - arrivals and departures - in various locations.... all in Los Angeles, over a 5 day period.

The warehouse it's sent from is based in LA, and according to USPS tracking, the item is still in LA.

that does not mean anything, I often find as I am unwrapping it, that the tracking shows my parcel is still in the USA 🙂

I have received number of parcels from the USA lately and all arrived before I started wondering what happened to them. And there were times parcels from UK took ages. Just as the 3 parcels coming from the same seller in HK; one took 5 weeks, and the other 2 were less than 2 weeks, all sent only days apart according to the date on them.

I understand that happens, but the point I was making, was the item tracking shows 5 different events, over 5 days (one per day) all still in the same state, let alone continent.

And we think AP is a bit slow shifting things from A to B 😐

I find if I receive a parcel from the US in two weeks it's a miracle, and I haven't received a parcel from the UK in two weeks it's a worry.

I bought a DVD from the US and the UK at the same time. The one from the uk was here over 10 days ago, has been 3 weeks since i ordered them, but the US one I got from Fishpond. wont buy of there again
