Goodbye ebay

To all the wonderful sellers with whom I have had exceptional experiences, thank you.

To ebay, I believe you are letting down many sellers and buyers with your commercialisation of what was once a terrific auction site that was constructed for the benefit of both.

During my seven years of being both a seller and a buyer, I was lucky to have had only one bad experience whereby an Australian seller advised postal tracking was included with their item, however when the item was lost in transit, and no receipt or tracking number forthcoming. A dispute was raised with ebay but they deemed no skullduggery had occurred and I was left out of pocket. This only happened a few months ago, but was the beginning of the end for my faith in ebay, which now appears to have become an over bloated site with third party advertisements and without much consideration of its core users.

I have done the same.Paypal and ebay favour themselves and crooks.It's no point to deal with them and lose money.I got sick

of their lack of proper response and all that delays especially when it came to my money.They do not look like a professional

business.Rather very poor middle men.

Well said Jo, but unfortunately I think maybe it is a sign of the times, sad but true.

When I was a kid my mum would give me 5 dollars to go to the shop and get bread and milk and I would come back with bread,milk,big bag of lollies, can of coke, couple packets of chips and still have change. these days get hardly anything, bloody CCTV.

You would not be out of pocket if you paid with Paypal, I have had only one really unpleasent buyer in all the years I have been buying and selling and I didn't end up out of pocket and she was kicked off ebay, as a buyer I have never been out of pocket, I have either received what I have paid for or I have got a refund.

The only difference I find in the ebay of today as opposed to the late 90s is that there are far more people to sell to, the seller protection is vastly improved, buyer protection is vastly improved, it is much easier to sell overseas and there is a far more varied choice of things to buy from all over the world.

Crooks on ebay are one thing and the "service" of paypal another.I got sick of their "specialists" and the delays in the process.

For my money I would expect to be treated well.They do not bother about you.Waste your time and money.Most sellers are

realy good but when you are unlucky to get a crook and you have to deal with paypal you may get a heart attack.Stupid emails

and not better phone service.

Have to agree with PJ. . I have always found Paypal fair and professional and in the two times I've opened a dispute

got my money back very quickly.

I've also been buying a fair bit lately and had some great items and excellent transactions.

Also when writing to ebay always had quick, clear and professional responses.

A very satisfied user here.
