I can certianly appreciate your frustration. It is dissapointing when you have an experience like this and I have had my share. Most large sellers feel that the system is biased towards buyers, with many policies that seem to favour them over sellers. You feel the other way. Maybe this is an indication ebay has got the balance somewhere near right. I have never tried to have feedback removed but have dealt with ebay on numerous occasions with various problems. I find they stick to policy fairly strictly and cant see that feedback would be removed unless it breached policy. My understanding is they will only remove slanderous or untrue comments if the buyer takes legal action, but feedback which mentions closed complaints cases or profanities will be easily removed. Back to my first question, just out of intrest. Did you mention a complaints case in your feedback ? Not being disrespectfull, just trying to get a grasp on what has happened here.

Ebay removes negative feedback at sellers request - so what's the point? How can you trust ebay when this happens? Paypal agreed with buyer. Obstinate seller offloading item wouldn't refund or be honest. Item arrived smelling of perfume, clearly worn and washed at earlier occasions. Yet honest feedback removed. Writer lost cost of postage to return said item which will be resold probably dishonestly again. Ebay can only be viable if it has integrity - this shows its lacking

Sellers can request Ebay remove feedback if it breaches ebays feedback policies. Did you mention the paypal dispute in the feedback ? If so, this breaches ebays policies and would be grounds for removal. It can be very frustrating when this happens, but reinforces the point that buyers need to be aware of feedback policy, and ensure thier feedback meets these guidelines. Ebay dont always "get it right" but they do try to be balanced and fair most of the time. Hopefully you can find some of the wonderfull sellers out there, who do thier utmost to keep thier customers happy, with quality products and excellant service.

I have contacted ebay several times about feedback removal and they did not remove it for me even though it was blatant lies with proof of emails through their system. Ebay state that feedback is to rate the seller, I have found this is not the case. Most buyers expect what they pay for and delivery in unrealistic time frames. ;

true there are wonderful sellers but ebay is not aiding us in finding them to the point it becomes not worth the risk... if feedback breaches whatever rules that does not mean the score needs to be removed or an email cant be sent asking for it to be revised ... Ebay can only continue if its perceived as having integrity by buyers .. but currently it panders to sellers ... especially those who are large volume ... I seriously have decided to not buy on here any-more .. there's competition like etsy with more robust feedback policies

I seriously think the feedback system is a joke.

A few people on here have told me that feedback is based on opinion.

Well dishonest buyeers (And there are plenty,just like dishonest sellers as well)

Can give you a neg just for the hell of it and we as sellers have no hope against that.

So in some cases ebay should remove it,if the proof is there.

But in most cases they wont ,and that is what makes the system a joke in my opinion.

The system should be used to find dishonest sellers who try to rip people off.

Not sellers that try there best to look after the customer.

Although not perfect, I think the feedback system works reasonably well. If you provide excellant service, almost all of the time you recieve excellant feedback. If you start to get a bit sloppy with descriptions, post times, problem solving etc. the buyers can crucify you very quickly. I certianly agree that there is the occasional horror buyer out there who will be incredibly difficult to please regardless of what you do. These are usually the ones who trash your feedback. Fortunatly they are few and far between and you can usually spot them pretty quickly and make sure the transaction goes smooth as silk. I agree that in clear cases where ebay messages show the buyer is lying and at fault , ebay should consider removing feedback. Unfortunatly they dont seem to have that much flexability. Just part of dealing with a giant international corporation I,m afraid.

Just checked your feedback. From the look of it you are doing an excellant job in a difficult market segment. Feedback problems would vary from catagory to catagory and your target market. I imagine used games to teenagers and young adults could be a difficult catagory to keep clients happy.

COULD SOME SELLERS HAVE ADVANTAGES OTHERS DONT ? I suspect ebay do look at the volume of business a seller has along with thier previous history. If thier scores for postage time & cost, item description and communication are in the 4.9,s with high pos. feedback scores and high stock turnover, ebay are more likely to treat them with respect than low turnover clients with average feedback scores. If these sellers can present a fair and reasonable case, ebay does tend to give them a pretty fair go. This does not excuse the sort of bad experience you have had and I doubt that ebay would act against you, had you not mentioned the dispute case in the feedback.
