Lyndal that was the first thing I checked because I thought it must be a problem with my time but if I refreshed a page with 3 or 4 minutes to go on the countdown timer it would show as only 1 or 2 minutes if you looked at the listing and on my phone the item would end with still at least 1 minute to go on the countdown.

It doesn't seem to be doing it today but I am still annoyed LOL

I was bidding on an item ending at 2.26.40pm and the search was showing 2 mins remaining but the listing page countdown clock was showing 4 mins 12 secs remaining. At the correct time as per the listing the auction finished but I could still see 2 minutes remaining on the countdown clock.

How can ebay possible stuff up time? It isn't actually a new concept or anything, time has been around for ever and a day, but ebay can't get the hang of it.

How can anyone snipe when ebay doesn't know when an auction is finishing?

Sellers could be missing out on higher prices for their auction items.

BTW I would have gone to $20.00 on the silk but was messed about by ebay.

So the seller has missed out on at least $3.50

Bump, it could have been your internet connection speed and refresh rate. Item finishes correctly on the clock, but your web page is behind due to not refreshing accurately.

I had this a couple of times a few years ago. My phone line was bad causing intermittent drop outs to the internet, which then did this.

So mini drop outs over the minutes, not a long enough interruption to obviously have lost the connection.

That is one explanation anyway. The auction page was not up to speed, literally.

I always manually refresh an auction page a bit ahead of the end, to make sure it looks right, and check the actual time, to be certain everything is correct.

Bump, my reply was to diecastmodels...his problem has only been happening since the change to daylight savings time and I wondered if his computer had been reset manually, giving the 40 second or so discrepancy in times.

I did not for one minute think that you would not have checked that.
