We have all probably experienced it.

eBay will generally not do anything about it, and I'm sure you have experienced the issue before as you're so experienced.

A lot of the problem is new sellers taking eBay at their word and starting auctions low, as that will supposedly attract higher final prices. Then they find out it's not so. So they do the sensible thing and use BIN, which eBay has been gearing towards for years.

And having shots at other members just because you don't like their POV does not come across well. It shows YOU as being unreasonable.

As does continual replies to yourself.

And your 88 selling feedback (last 18 months ago) really has nothing to do with this. Except , maybe, that as a business person you should know better than to expect to get something at a loss to the seller. Which I'm sure, as a business person, you would not do yourself.

I had cause to deal with a seller a few weeks ago seller outdoor tiles the item was for several sq metres and i won the auction for around $30 which really was a bargain.then the problems, a few days later a revived a request through ebay to cancel sale . Reason given was some family thing me.being someone who has been around a long time smelt a rat i ignored the request and left negative feedback and negative follow up saying i think seller has sold item elsewhere for a higher price. Then because of my circumstances i gave up and the request lapsted and sale was cancelled it think or i just cancelled it.
And what happened a few weeks later still looking for tiles saw same.tiles and seller with a buy price of $99 then.after 2atempts at that price $79.
Now i seriously think sales that have been cancelled and then relisted especially for more should be banned by ebay ?

It was obvious they wanted more than you won them for so they relisted with a price they want.

All you can do is report them as a non performing seller and move on.

Never leave a request to cancel as it will go in the sellers favor if you ignore it.

And why agree to it when they have done the wrong thing.

Moving on is NO solution.
I don't really care found my tiles but everyone needs to understand this should be fundamental you have been made a fool of !
I don't particularly like that. Yo me the sale is a contract between two and needs to be honoured . Moving on to me is lying down and letting someone run over you. Of your the type that likes moving well and good.
The problem is not solved stupid sellers will continue to do this types of thing and ebay will continue to collect fees etc....
The problem is real and there's a very simple solution as i side .moving on is a cop out to me
Or this is a mutual admiration society ? Constructive comments are welcomed by me but today move on doesn't solve the problem its just put into the to hard basket !

All iam seeking is a way to solve this i really don't think this is a isolated incident and of we are all sheep and follow over the the gap well.... Think about that

you're right

it is a contract

sparky and others have explained the most cost effective way for you to address this

when the mutual cancellation comes through, decline it so the seller doesn't get their FVF's back. In this case, they did and ebay got nothing, so not sure where you come from saying eBay gets their fees?

sparky was also right in saying to report them for noin performance

and all the other things she said

What she didn't tell you, because on a $30 sale it just seems that even on principle it is not worth this avenue, if you want your contract enforced, then stand your ground, hold onto principle and sue the seller for breach of contract/non performance of contract.

eBay have no legal right to take action on your behalf for a contract between you and the seller.

YOU have to do that.

eBay will record something on their account if you report them for nonperformance, and if they continue to behave badly, may take action and restrict/terminate their account, but this won't help you now.

So, sue the seller and get the courts to make them honour the contract, or move on, cos eBay do NOT have the authority to do it for you.

Except , maybe, that as a business person you should know better than to expect to get something at a loss to the seller. Which I'm sure, as a business person, you would not do yourself.

deja vu

I have just had a similar experience, where I paid for an item, only to find the sale cancelled and money refunded with no explanation. It was A "buy it now". I thought it extremely rude for the seller not to contact me first before cancelling if there was some problem. When I contacted them, they spun a story that I have trouble believing. They had more of the same items in another colour, but didn't even give me a choice as to if I wanted one of those. Now, I am very annoyed about the whole thing, or rather the way I have been treated. Having been in the same shoes as the other buyer on here, I do sympathise, as it is most annoying. Unfortunately, I need to get over it fast as I find it fruitless to keep stressing about things past that cannot now be changed, life is just too short for that. I have already found an alternative item, even nicer one and cheaper. I will not agree to the cancellation, why does it need input from me anyway? Apparently it goes ahead in a week without my input anyway. Sellers who treat their buyers badly are their own worst enemies.

if it goes ahead without your input (ie refusal) they get the refund on FVF's and may just keep doing the same thing to others.
