Has all buying stopped?

So, we can't buy until we change our password, and we can't change password, because the system is clogged up, so has eBay come to a standstill? Does anyone know how long it will take to clear all this backlog? I feel sorry for the Sellers, what happens to all their auctions that will be ending and no-one able to bid on them?

Yep. My store traffic checked through Omniture is down 75% today vs. every other day in the last 60 days. Hopefully it starts to claw it's way back up.

Obviously there's no hope that eBay would compensate us. It's not like I want compensation financially, but they could maybe offer to do an automated message to every buyer on eBay saying 'hey how about you DO buy from our sellers, they are suffering since the hacking incident!'

Doubt it would happen though. Cheers eBay, cheers!

Yes, but the news articles and the panic knee-jerk reaction and eBay jamming happened today.

There is nothing stopping you buying....I have just bought 2 items with no problems at all.

Neither am I for the moment.

The breach happened months ago and there have been no wholesale outbreaks of account hacking. I feel the ebay suggestion to change passwords is just a precaution.

When things cool down I will probably change it but for now it is probably more of a hassle than it is worth.

I,ve been out today, but came home to fairly reasonable sales, so someone must be buying. It is all a bit of a worry though.

The message eBay is putting out is that you won't be able to do anything on the site until you change your password. From what several of you have said, this doesn't seem to be the case at all. I can't understand why they would mislead us like that.

I purchased a phone for the son on another ID last night. ( no change of passwords yet ) I waited until the last seven seconds for the snipe and it all went off without a hitch, so all systems still seem to be working. I tried to change one ID password this morning, but the systems still seems to be choked up. Will try again in a day or two.

i have noticed it very quiet in the last week or so with people buying things

even some of the categorys i see same things being relisted

The last few weeks of the financial year are often slow for general retail sales.

The last week or so have been very sporatic. I've had a couple of extremly good days and the rest have been very poor. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.
