Possible Scam - <$50

I have placed 3 order from <Removed> but now suspect that it is a scammed seller. I bought it after checking out the recent feedback but now I am under the impression that they are fake ads. Anyone else in the same boat? and what can we do?

This is absolutely a scam. I have a genuine MTK6592 which is exactly the same type of phone as is listed and the lowest price you can get them for in China is around A$90. There's no way anybody is going to sell one of these for only A$47 so you need to lodge a Paypal claim immediately and escalate it straight away. You should get your money back within around 2 weeks or so.

I have opened a claim in Paypal as per your advice.

So stupid of me, I should have asked the community before committing to the purchase.

I believe a learning process. Hopeful that eBay does some vigilence against these scammers.

Even if it was not a scam I would never buy a phone from China or anywhere else overseas as you cannot return them using Aus Post if faulty, it actually applies to anything with a lithium battery. The only way to return them is to use a courier company with specialised packaging which can run to hundreds of dollars.

I agree, been there and done that mistake as well. Bought a Lenovo Vibe Z from China and it's screen started acting weird.

Had a lot of trouble to claim warranty and sent it via UPS for 49AUD.

I will be vigilant in my buying from now on. Thanks

I also got scamed buying the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Phone, first time and should have known better. I filed a dispute with Paypal and should get refund in 10 days. His listing has now been deleted from eBay, I guess from all the numerous complaints. In Australia, if you get faulty electronic items with batteries from overseas, Australia Post regulations will not allow you to return ship item. Make sure to first lodge a dispute with PayPal and explain to them that you cannot return faulty item with battery and they will re-imburse you the total cost from seller. This has happened to me twice and I am grateful for using PayPal and I have never been out of pocket.

Paypal just advised me, "we have concluded our investigation into your case and have decided in your favour, the full amount has been credited to you". I recommend that you use Paypal for all transactions on eBay, otherwise you may be out of pocket. The case was handled promptly in just 10 days.

That's good you got a full refund. Yes, Paypal is the way to pay for items on eBay.

Yes, BIG Scams...on the go at the moment !

Mainly with Smartphones and Tablets.....selling for around $20 that would normally be $200 plus.

Check http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/331333204725 and check the other items from this seller..

These remote control GPS guided ariel photography drones ain't your kids backyard model..

Even though they are selling here for $25.......I have seen them selling locally for around $2000 !

THere are quite a few sellers that have the above items for sale.

I bought a few myself, but since then, not only were the items withdrawn from sale, but the sellers also.withdrawn.

Of course it was after I had paid for them...The explaination from eBays said that as I had paid I should receive the goods OK,,,

Yeah right!..I'm sure they will be air lited in by a dozen pink pigs

Anyhow the disputes have gone to PayPal so we shall hope for the best.

I'm sure eBay could improve their act here....With a decent watchdog that could pick out the scams,,
