I am not surprised that you want to have that rude followup removed. You can try asking ebay but don't hold your breath. They just might remove it because of the language, who knows. But it certainly makes you look worse than the seller.

If you want to remove it because your seller finally did the right thing or fixed whatever problem you had to cause you to initially leave that follow-up, you can always email him and ask him to send you a feedback revision request. Otherwise, it's most unlikely that eBay will remove it and it will probably stay there for the life of your user ID.

CQ I don't think the Feedback Revision Request applies to followup feedback, only the initial feedback.

It seems illogical that a FRR would only allow the buyer to change the initial feedback but not any follow-ups. That would surely be pointless.

But the initial feedback is positive and ebay will not allow that to be changed.

I have always seen the boardies give advice along the lines of leave a poor follow up comment if the item turns out to be a dud after the first positive feedback had been left.

I assumed it was because the first positive could not be changed.

I see your point Lyndal, and I'm certainly not suggesting that you're wrong, but assuming that the whole idea of FRR is to replace a neg or neutral with a positive (and that's the only way it can be used), then if a follow-up has a negative connotation, surely it should follow that a FRR could be used to change that follow-up to a positive comment (or indeed remove it altogether).

In the absence of any on-site information (or nothing that I could find) I think it would be a terrible shame if a negative follow-up could not be removed or replaced with a positive follow-up, which would be in keeping with the whole point and philosophy of a feedback revision request. I've also decided that eBay's on-line help files really suck. 😉

There is one way it can be removed.

Buyer sends seller a message ' l agree to have my feedback removed'.

Seller then rings eBay, requests to have the whole feedback removed and tells rep to read the eBay messages for buy consent.

The green dot (and comments) will all be removed.
