Hi,

I recently tried to purchase a few items.

Paypal payment didn't work citing my credit card hasn't been confirmed but when i check Paypal, it shows my card has been confirmed.

So i tried to pay with just credit card. Both my MasterCard AND American Express were denied citing i can't use those cards.

Also, despite my AMEX being denied, i still ended up having to pay an AMEX fee? and through Paypal as well (my AMEX isn't the card verified to PayPal)

What is happening???!!

There seem to be a few problems with paypal at the moment. I have not had any problems so I really cannot help you but I do know that there are different fee levels for American Express cards.

The only think I can think of is whether the expiry date has changed on your credit card and not been updated in paypal?? Have you checked it?

About the fee for Amex, some time ago now they were charging a currency conversion fee for transactions where the currency conversion had been calculated already, i.e. By the merchant or Paypal. When this was brought to their notice they refunded it in full.

give Amex a call and try to get the Amex fee waived as no transaction took place. They should be able to see that straight away, if they can see the fee. Same with Paypal. No transaction, so they should waive any fees they have charged you.
