Seller not replying

i just won a bid for an h&m sunglasses i send a message to the seller to ask how quick can he send the suglasses when he receives the money but he is not replying i don't want to pay yet becasue i feel he is shady.

When did you bid and win this glasses ? He may be a bit busy at the moment or not at the computer to give you a relpy.

The time to ask questions like that is before you buy, the seller should show the handling time in the payment and postage details and you should expect it to sent within that timescale. Once it is posted if is completely out of the seller's control and if receiving them quickly was a consideration you should have gone to a B&M store.

If they are shady then what good do you think emailing them will do, are they more or less likely to lie again if they have already done so in the listing?

They most certainly won't send them before they have cleared payment and if you don't pay they will probably open an unpaid item dispute and if you still don't pay you will end up with a strike against your account, more than one of those and most sellers will have you blocked.

i send the message the night i won the bid this my second time buying something on ebay the first time the buyer sent me an email as soon as the bid eneded so i was exepecting the same thing from this seller

if you are going to buy on ebay you need to be patient. most sellers have full or part time jobs, don't work weekends and some you just never hear from.

If you have only bought one thing and the postage amount is listed in the listing, you don't need to wait for an invoice to pay. You can just go ahead and pay. The only time you really need to wait for an invoice is if you buy multiple items from the same seller and you need a postage cost adjustment to reflect combined postage.

If this seller is a full time eBay seller, he may well not work weekends. Plenty of full time sellers will state that they don't respond to messages over the weekend, or give actual times when they do. Everyone is entitled to a day or 2 off a week and eBay sellers are no different.

I would just go ahead and pay. You can do that from your Purchase History. There will be a PayNow button there.

As a buyer, it is your job to read the description carefully before you bid. The handling time - or how quickly the seller sends - is included in the listing.

You have purchased the item, now it is your job to pay. The sooner you pay, the sooner you will receive the item.

If things go wrong, there is plenty of buyer protection for you if you pay by paypal. Do not consider paying by any other method seeing you seem to be worried about the seller.

Keep in mind that not everyone in the universe accesses computers and email on their phone. It has got to the stage that some people send a message and expect an instant reply.

If you have a seller who operates as I do-I have an old fashioned mobile phone and never use it for online things, I access websites and email via a home computer-then you may find a seller is only online once a day and maybe not even that if they have a busy weekend, which could happen this time of year.

In fact, if you buy an item, normally you don't need to contact a seller at all. You pay, they post the item, mark it as sent and you get it, all without either of you actually personally contacting each other with messages.

Totally agree. With most of my buyers, the first contact is when (if) they leave feedback. Occasionally I'll get an enquiry about an item, which I will always respond to as quickly as I can, but most of the time, the buyer wins an item, they pay, I post and that's the end of it.

The only time I'll initiate contact is if they are interstate. I will send a message after posting to let them know MY estimate of when they can expect their item, or if they are bidding on multiple items, I'll send a message asking them not to pay until they have finished buying.

I work a regular job, so not all messages get responded to immediately, but most of the time I'll get a break at some point, so use that time to reply to any messages. Sometimes I don't get a break during my shift and when I do reply to the message, I apologise for it taking so long to reply, and tell them why.

OP - you bid, you won, now you pay.........using paypal.

There is no reason for the seller to respond, they will wait for payment and then send the goods.

If you have not received the item within 40 - 43 days, you open an INR dispute and get a refund.

In future, check all feedback on a seller before bidding, having second thoughts after you have bid and won is, I am afraid, little too late.

Read up all you need to know regarding buying safely and protecting yourself when purchasing on eBay.
