Posting a saddle..Help!!!

Hi ebayer's! I was if someone knows how I can get a horse saddle posted to Adelaide from Brisbane? Apparently Australia Post wont deliver itmes over 22 kgs. My son-in-law needs it in a hurry. Thank you 🙂

Best bet is to send it via a courier.

Expensive but it will get there quickly.

I have used TNT Express in the past for oversized items, but not sure if you need an account with them as we have with work.

Others will probably suggest some good ones.

You could try a courier, they will be pretty exxy thogh.

I used an online service once for a skateboard ramp.

I used to use e-go quite a lot, then their prices started to creep up to rather high levels, so switched to Interparcel - so far so good!

Quick, relatively inexpensive and reliable.

I don't know if it helps, but I've sold and posted 3 saddles over the last year or so each using Australia Post. Your saddle will not be over 20kg - I feel sorry for the horse if it is. It might however come close when the package is cubed.

Wrap the saddle carefully in blankets (old horse blankets - or anything that isn't too heavy - I used old saddle blankets to wrap the saddle in. Put the girths, stirrups etc between the flaps and curl the flaps around themselves. Pop it into a large chaff bag and tie off the top. If you are worried, use 2 chaff bags. If you've put the pommel at the bottom of the bag the saddle will sit how it should without being damaged.

It should cost about $38 for a leather saddle and about $15-20 for a synthetic saddle with Australia Post.

If you want to use a courier have a look at Termando....they are a courier broker and can give you a choice of courier services with companies who do not deal with one off parcels.
