topic Feedback revision in Buying

I gave seller a negative, and he requested for feedback revision in exchange for free delivery and discount on a replacement item. To give him a chance to prove that he is an "honest trader"(according to him), I agreed, although his discount offer and product listings were too limited. I also considered this another transaction deserving another feedback. After I chose a "buy it now" item, w/c took him a while to respond to, he wanted me to revise my feedback first, and then he would check whether the item was still available or not. I soon found out after he emailed me that he withdrew the item from eBay. What a cheat! The negative feedback stays.

eBay says agree to the revision only AFTER the seller has resolved the problem.

Hi, I had this problem once. As soon as I got the message I lodged a complaint against the buyer for Feedback extortion. If you check all of Ebays rules you will see that the buyer cant ask for extra services or products that are not included in the listing in exchange for a certain type of feedback. My case was that free return postage was not offered as a service in the listing ( and was against Ebays standard terms of buyer paying return postage ) and so by requesting the service of free return post the buyer was a party to feedback extortion. The case was reviewed and found in my favour. The buyers feedback was removed and I was informed indirectly in a phone call ( not officially ) that the buyers account may have been restricted. It may be worth typing feedback extortion in the help centre bar and see what comes up. Hope it works out for you.

Wouldn't have a clue but I would PRESUME it would have to be within the same timeframe for leaving feedback ie 60 days.I looked in customer support but couldn't find anything.

Just checked with ebay.

Your presumption is correct, the Feedback Revision Request Form must be sent by seller within the 60 days, the buyer then has 10 days to respond.
