Courier Return

Hi,

I purchased an item on another ID, paid by Paypal, (not received yet), then asked the seller not to send but to exchange as I wanted a different model number from him.

He claims it has already been sent by Toll couier and can't cancel.

I checked the consignment number and it hasn't been collected from him.

He wants me to accept it and pay to return it.

I'm unable to accept a courier delivery as I'm not at home, which is why I chose his listing as it stated Auspost delivery.

(I can collect from PO if the postie misses me.)

Is this a case of inaccurate listing?

If it had been Auspost delivery I would have accepted the item and given as a present and rebought one that I wanted.

What to do?

Should I have to pay for return of a non delivered item?

I imagine if a courier doesn't get a delivery response it goes back to the sender anyway wouldn't it?

Thanks

If you are not home when the courier tries to deliver, they will leave a card for you, same as the postie does. You can then go to their depot and pick up the package.

They may attempt a second delivery. If they drop a card, maybe you could ring them and let them know when you'll be home, or even ask if they can drop it to your work? Lyndal should be along shortly, she's up on the where with all for couriers.

Most couriers give you an option to have the parcel redelivered and left in a designated place.....or delivered to a neighbour or friend.

I am fairly sure Toll is one of those. Just read the card that will be left....all your options will be on that.

Toll will deliver to your local newsagency if you ask them to.

Apart from that you can pick the item up at their depot.

Be prepared for the run around from their off shore call centre who have no idea about Australian geography.

The last item Toll couried for me was held by them for 3 days and it took several phone calls to their call centre until I was able to locate and collect it.
