Shill bidding?

I was going to bid on this but was concerned about an early bidder that subsequently won the item.

Strangley enough the item has been relisted.

What do you think? a bit sus?

it doesn't look "a bit sus" to me . . . . . . It looks absolutely 100% sus.

I looked at completed items for this seller and there are several that were 'won' by the same bidder and then relisted.

Not only 100% suss, but it doesn't even look like genuine

Pandora to me.

Very blurry photos - doesn't show markings of any kind.

But maybe that's the idea

Hey Pimpy.

Any genuine Pandora beads/charms should show the markings 925/ALE

Especially the ones with gold on them.

They should show the gold content

Be very wary of blurry photos

Fake Pandora are very good imitations. Hard to pick the

chinese fakes from the real ones. Even they are marked 925/ALE

You can report individual listings. Just above the description, on the right, is a report this item link. After you click on that, select listing practices from the top dropdown. The next dropdown select fraudulent listing activities, and the last dropdown select seller using other accounts to inflate price. Click continue, then send report on the next page. No guarantee eBay will do anything, but still worth reporting.

You can also report the seller via the help and contact link at the top of every eBay page. By reporting this way, you can write a message stating why you believe the seller is up to no good. Again, no guarantee eBay will do anything.

seller has 100% good feedback.

isnt that enough to tell you this seller is genuine and all their customers have been happy with them?...UNREAL...!

stay well away from that one. If you look at completed history you will see thew same w***l(1) bidder on each of the sellers sold listings bidder list. bidding history is 100% with that seller only. So obvious shill bidding.

Harley, you must admit the shiller is not very good at it.

Most shillers don't put in a high bid early in the auction and the idea is to force the price up, not actually win the item.

The seller must be costing themselves a fortune in fees as they keep winning their own goods.

Hmmm.... member since 2008 with over 5500 posts ... and don't know how to report a listing? YIKES!!

And on the subject tho .. I would have RSI ( Strain Injury) if I were to report every dodgy listing I came across on eBay

Selling boards,(so wouldn't have come across this scenario before).

Feedback score of 20 in 5 years would've been a better indicator.

All that's saying is that members are silly enough to pay for over priced items,(and have no idea that

someone has been shill bidding against them).

That seller should be starting their listings at the minimum price that they are willing to accept,(not have

someone up the price to try and gain more for them).

Shill bidding is against eBay policy so the seller is doing the wrong thing.

In the end it's up to eBay to enforce their policies and to act on any reports that they receive,

OMG! and I thought I had no life!

I suppose Pimpy could have been one of those very lucky few that has had no problems on eBay ha ha because I am sure I was looking for answers to the iniquities on eBay before I hit 20 feedback. I didn't join the discussion boards straight away because there were so many complaints you could just do a search in answers and find what you wanted to know and I only ended up joining because at some point you need to vent, just because of the stupid stuff that goes on here and now I only come here to complain and these days I very rarely bother with that anymore .. or to even complain offically, mainly due to the non transparency of action eg. if you complain to a b&m place like BigW there will be an open disclosure to the outcome of your complaint, but here it just goes into the bowls of eBay never to be seen again obviously, because they get so many of them

So, even now I got on here because of buying problems and wanted to vent, but changed my mind about posting because it is just a waste of time.

I'm looking at an item which has got some strange bids on it atm...12 bids, only 2 bidders and one of thise outbid themselves 7x in a row lol

All 12 bids occured in one day, bar the first and none since then. The item did start at rather a low price, so am wondering if its a ruse to jack it up to a more reasonable level (doubled the price in those 12 bids) and give the appearance of movement 😛

Haven't seen anything quite this overt before lol

You need to look at the time and day that the bids were placed.

You will probably see that the highest bid was placed first and the bidder who "outbid" themself was just bidding to try and outbid the first bidder.

Did the multiple bidder actually win the item?

I always feel sorry for the seller when someone comes to the boards ranting about shill bidding when clearly it is not.

No matter how many times the "ranter" is reassured that there is nothing wrong, mud does stick and the seller has been tainted.
