could someone please explain if a add says a fixed price then you pick colour then style and it gos up

Because it is a multiple choice listing with prices dependent on size colour etc.

It is a listing format allowed by ebay.

In my case, my cushion covers are often different sizes in one listing. If a person choose a 16" cover, they will pay one price and of they choose the 18" option they will pay more.

When looking through search results, Ebay always displays the lowest price point in a sellers listing and when you click on the item, you then get the different options and prices in the dropdown menus at the top of the listings.

if thats the case you should then have two listings. one for the 16" and another for the 18". simple. they are NOT the same item.

It's the same item, the variation is the size.

It's like selling a blue dress in S, M and L.

You are not going to have 3 different listings for the same dress. The buyer chooses the size off one listing.

That's the point of variations.
