I am getting slightly peeved as to when I make a purchase and then wait in limbo (twiddling thumbs) while the seller gets round to shipping the item, and me having to message them and say to them oh hopefully you will be shipping item soon etc! seem to have to remind them at least 50%of the time to do this.As soon as they get message its oh yes I am shipping today for you, sorry for delay. Or something similar. (Is that coincidence or just my imagination)
Every excuse under the sun it seems.
Be good idea for sellers to tell buyer if there is a delay and its bad for overseas purchases as they take long enough to get here let alone waiting for item to be actually shipped.

You must be able to pick them

Most sellers (at least the ones who post on the boards) post well within their handling time. But they're Australian. Have you checked the handling time, or do you assume they all post same/next day?

Of course OS sellers might be a bit tardy, given that 4pm here is midnightish in a lot of the US for example.

I'm sure your <STRIKE>rodents</STRIKE> pets can live for a few days on Australian food purchased from your local shop.

Michelle, maybe you are just a little too anxious.

Most things I buy are sent within a day or two, arrive safely, and are as described.

I understand most people don't live and breath eBay (ie they have a life), so even up to a week for postage is acceptable, especially if they live in a remote area where they may only go to town once or twice a week.

Does this mean the countdown is on for the next panic attack when the pet food hasn't arrived within 48 hours of posting? Who'll get the blame for stealing your parcels this time, the bat next door, or the feral from a few doors up? Don't forget to open a dispute and get a refund if they haven't arrived within 4 days. After all, the snow storms happening that way that have bought entire states to a complete standstill won't stop the mail from getting out. Nothing else can get in or out, but they'll make an exception for your stuff.

A lot of eBay sellers also have regular employment apart from eBay, meaning they only post once a week or whatever.

As has been pointed out by others, if a seller is posting within their stated handling time, it really is a bit rude for you to be harrassing them to post immediately, just because you've paid. Buying from overseas sellers also effectively extends the handling time by another day due to time differences.

To be honest, bothering sellers with "Where is my item?" messages, is just slowing them down and may even make a spiteful seller delay posting your item by another day.

And please don't forget - the estimated delivery date is eBay's estimate, and from my experience is often at odds with the actual carriers estimate.

Marina.

Assume late Wed, 2 days is Friday or, more probably Monday. Today is a Public Holiday.

So, atm we are 0 or 1 days past handling time.

I've found the opposite, that things tend to be posted out quickly these days.

In the past, it was nothing to wait over a week and I sometimes sent an email to say-please let me know when you post so i will know when to look out for the items and as you say, the answer would often be-yes, just posting today, or tomorrow etc

I never let it affect feedback, they still got positive, but all the same it was annoying.

Aussie sellers mostly seem to be small businesses these days but even the private sellers are usually off and posting within 48 hours.

I don't mind if it takes a few days to arrive but admit to feeling annoyed if a seller doesn't list it as posted so i know where things are at.
