Hi if I've requested express postage the buyer sent an invoice and I've paid it. Now he tells me he didn't send express postage because it wasn't requested. But I've got messages where I requested express and stated it was urgent. Can I cancel the order if it's not recieved in time?

Did you pay the extra for express postage? did the seller put express postage on the new invoice? (if one was sent) if only the original invoice was sent (which is generated automatically by ebay) are you certian the seller SAW your message before the posted?

As far as I am aware, no a buyer cannot cancel AFTER an item is sent

I sent a message requesting combined express postage stating it was urgent before purchasing. He sent an invoice stating he had combined the postage but it doesn't say express. I just presumed it was express as I had requested it in the very first message.

Ebay doesn't automatically generate an invoice, ebay just sends a reminder to pay,a seller sends an invoice.

OP check the details in the purchase,it should state what type of postage it is and if you paid for express and it doesn't arrive that way then demand a postage refund for the difference.

Also these days express is way slower than normal post lol.

odd, as I always get an automatically 'pay now' message from Ebay which takes me to the invoice every time I have ever bought anything

Guess I must be special

Was the message direct via the eBay message system, or a note added to the 'request invoice' function? Not that it makes a huge difference to the current situation as it stands, it's just that messages added when you use the 'request invoice' function are super easy to miss. They're tacked on to the very end of what is a fairly messy format, and in relatively small text, plus there's nothing to indicate special requests have been made (admittedly most buyers will message direct to make special requests for things not offered in the listing, but I've learnt to double-check invoice request notifications, because sometimes people do it that way, and because it comes through much like all of eBay's other automated and superfluous emails, occasionally even going to the spam folder).

Still, I'm not suggesting it's your fault if the seller missed the request, just advising that - on the off-chance it wasn't via direct messaging - that would be the way to go in the future to ensure the seller is aware of your needs (preferably before you even buy) and that they can accomodate them.

You can't cancel the order, as such, but if the seller accepts returns, it might be best to try and arrange for the item to be sent back in your absence.

It's what buyers who actually READ listings can do in order to, for example, get a combined postage invoice.

It shows up in the dropdown in PH if you've bought more than one item from a seller. I think it's called "request total".
