PayPal Dispute - Advice?

Hi there,

Just a couple of questions about PayPal disputes.

I was wondering if I could get some advice about a dispute through PayPal. When a dispute is coming up to the automatic closing time and the seller and I haven't come to an agreement, is there any way to prolong the closing date or do I just escalate the dispute to a claim? The latter option doesn't really seem fair to the seller.

The other question of mine is if the seller and I come to an agreement and they send an item, do I wait until I've received the item to close the dispute? It states to wait for 7 days for postage in the PayPal instructions, but international postage would not arrive in 7 days, so is this just to wait until the seller has posted the item?

If the case closes, you cannot open another nor extend the deadline of the current case.

Some overseas sellers are notorious for dragging a buyer beyond the deadlines then giving no action.

Escalate to a claim before the deadline and message the seller explaining you have done so only to not miss the deadline and once you receive the item, you will close the case.

Should you receive a refund before the item arrives, you repay using PayPal when you receive it.
