ATTENTION SELLERS!!

I'd like to tell people about Australia Post and their "Click and send" for EBay sellers.

Please look into this because you will save money and more importantly, your customers will be very happy and appreciate the cheaper postage option AND you will sell more!!!! ;\

Please tell your sellers about this and pass it on!

Aye, and remember, you don't have to use Click and Send from the computer. You can ask the Post Office to do it.

It saves me printing material. 😄

--but to use the satchels and get the big savings they offer, you need a printer at home and a cr/card to pay online.

Does anyone remember exactly when Click & Send started for real? I remember a trial thing in December 2010, did it flow on from then?

I started using them in early July, but I think they went mainstream a couple of months before that.

Thanks davewil1964, I know we were answering questions about it in very early 2011 but I dont have any actual dates recorded.

What a shame for the OP that they've missed around a year of this service.

Thank you for reminding me about Click and Send.

I did not want to by-pass my local Post Office entirely as this is a Licensed Post Office relying on service to the community for survival and originally there did not seem to be an option to pay at the Post Office.

The system appears to have settled in well and I will give it a trial.

A 500 gram parcel costs $6.35.

With Click and Send I must purchase a flat pack box ($1.38 bulk price for 20+) and then pay $6.50.

Is the ability to track the parcel worth the extra cost of $1.53 to the buyer?

yes on 2 counts, the $6.35 you quote does NOT have tracking / paypal coverage, that'd cost you another $3.05 for Registered on an ordinary parcel

Thanks for that Putney - it has been so long since I read up on this that it had become a blur. I am quite happy to continue to do my own packaging and send in satchels.

And your local PO now gets a fee if you lodge over the counter (after paying for the postage online). Which also guarantees the one tracking event you need for Paypal seller protection.

I would save a copy of the label when you print it, too. I think AP only keep the records for 3 months; less than the time for a CC chargeback.

I've been using click and send since I opened my store.

I have found it so easy as I live out in the bush some 15km from the closest post office. I can't pick a fault with it!

As for credit cards, you can keep 'em, I dispose them!!

I have NEVER owned a credit card and never will.

To solve this, I opened up a bank account with NAB and the card I got with the account can be used wherever it allows you to use a "VISA" card.

No fees either, which I love!!!! Not even if I overdraw!

I've also had a Pay Pal account since I've been using EBay (3 years) and have never had a problem with them.

I thought I would pass on my experience to you all. It's up to you wether you look into it or not. For some people it probably won't work, but for those that have success with it, then I have achieved something.

Click and send has many serious issues though . . . like when you register they send your info back via email including your exact password - not encypted like most other sites. This means that anyone who can intercept your email can see all your details, including password. Really bad security! Shame on Australia Post!

I alerted them to this 9 months ago and got the old 'thanks for your feedback' spiel and 'we'll look into it' spiel and lo and behold, yesterday it was exactly the same.

Also, it only works properly on old browsers like really old versions of Firefox and explorer. (not the most recent THREE versions). Doesn't work on Google Chrome at all. Or on my computer where I keep up to date with browser improvements. You'd think all the price increases (which happen so often I can hardly keep up) they'd actually employ good IT staff to keep things current!!!

Let's just hope the hyped up advertising of the new Australia Post Digital Mailbox that's set to come out next week will actually deliver this time. Without compromising people's personal information.

Works fine on the latest version of ie for me.

And i like it when they send me my password, then i can store it and I wont forget it. Many sites do this, particularly the ones that dont hold any financial details.

I like to be able to have my browser store the password, it annoys me that i have to type it in each time.

the forthcoming Click and Send price increase in April will be the first increase in Click and send price since it started... all what price increases??????

C&S works fine for me on FF11.0, which I believe is the current version.

If you're going to bump old threads, at least add something to the discussion.

C&S works fine for me on IE, FF and Chrome.

No price rises since it started except when they stopped the free satchel offer and surely nobody expected that to last for ever.

Why wouldn't they send your password, they do not, unfortunately, store your card details so nobody would have anything to gain by hacking into your account.
