Yesterday I left negative feeback for a seller. This morning I looked to see if they had responded and it had been removed., like I had never left it. I did'nt recieve any message from Ebay telling me it was removed or why.

I left negative feedback because I did'nt recieve my item, it was sent as registered post but marked as delivered to a suburb I don't live in. The seller has not responded to my messages or tried to help and I have lodged a complaint with Aust Post, (they have'nt got back to me, but apparently it is being investigated.)

But I think the seller might have addressed it incorrectly, after looking at other feedback left for them. I dont know why it was lost, it was'nt valuable but I really wanted it.

The feedback I left was factual and honest. I did'nt abuse them or swear. just stated the facts.

I know that sellers have the right to get negative feedback removed but do I have the right to get it reinstated?. I want people to know what sort of seller this person is.

the usual thing to do when an item doesnt arrive is choose contact buyer from a drop down list on the items order page, then click on the item didnt arrive, then select 'i want a refund' and lodge it.

leaving negative feedback wont get your money back.

I had negative feedback removed that stated the item didn't arrive. I also won the non arrival dispute as the tracking showed as delivered (I'm not your seller!). I didn't think they'd remove the feedback but they did. The item I sent was tracked to the buyers post office where they had a PO box. Every indication was that they had received the item.

If the tracking shows as delivered, I'm not sure there is much else you can do. I'm not even sure you will be successful with AP as the sender is usually the one that needs to raise the dispute for something that has been delivered incorrectly. Did you raise the dispute via the help page on the AP site, where you have to create a My Post account, or via their Facebook/Tweeter page?

It sounds most likely that eBay removed it because the tracking showed the package as delivered - which I say because as a seller, I've had negatives removed in th past when I have been able to show eBay evidence that the comments were incorrect (I'm not saying you did receive the package, just that it sounds like since the tracking shows as delivered, eBay took this as enough evidence to contradict your statements. As an example of the kind of FB I've had removed, I had a buyer leave a neg saying they didn't receive a refund on an item that was lost in the post. That was untrue, and the refund was facilitated via eBay so they could look at the transaction and see it was refunded, so removed the neg).

I'm guessing that you may need to show further evidence (that the package was misaddressed / not delivered to you) before eBay would consider reinstating the FB, which might be difficult to obtain but you may be able to get from Aus Post after their investigation.

I raised the dispute on the Australia Post website and created an account with them. I have filed a paypal complaint, the seller escalated it and said the location listed on the tracking page is not the delivery address but the Australia post sorting address ? but it clearly states the sorting centre suburb , then says delivered to ....and names the suburb - which is ten minutes drive from where I live, you have to click on the tracking number and go to the Aust Post website to see that much information though.

Because of ebay's daft policy on what constitutes delivery it is always better to use Paypal for an item not received claim. Had you gone through a Paypal claim and won before leaving feedback you would have had a better chance of it staying. Obviously the seller did all they could and should have been covered by Paypal if the delivery address on the parcel was the same as the delivery address in checkout. It being delivered to a different suburb to the one in the address would mean that Paypal should cover the refund cost so neither of you lost out.

The seller is a bit remiss in not chasing it up with AP as only the sender can make non delivery complaints unless they assign the right to the buyer.

At the moment they are a bit slow responding to the online requests due to increased load from extra parcels and letters being sent in the lead up to Christmas. I lodged one last Thursday and really only got any correspondence today. They even rang me which was good. I should find out next week if the issue has been resolved.

If you are on Facebook, you could also mention your complaint on their page (make sure it has the blue tick). If you mention the case number of your complaint and a brief description, it can sometimes get them to look at it a bit quicker. Don't take the lead of a lot of the other posters on their page, they are clearly upset. I've found being calm and courteous gets better and often quicker results.........even though you really want to rant and rave like everyone else!

I can't remember if anyone else mentioned it, if you funded the PayPal payment with a credit or Visa debit card, you can always do a chargeback if you have no luck in the dispute process or seller.

Good luck with it all. Please come back and let us know how you get on.

I've had items get stuck in a sorting centre for extended periods - once the buyer contacts me and lets me know the item hasn't arrived, I do a tracking search. If the items appears stuck in a sorting centre, I immediately send the buyer a replacement item, and chase the missing item up with Australia Post (they've refunded me, and based the amount on my own estimate of the item's value - could be nicely rorted if you were of a mind to).

Not responding is classless, at best.

How do you know it was addressed incorrectly?

What sort of seller are you saying this is ?

You say you tried messaging the seller, did you give them time to respond before leaving the negative ?

For all the seller knows, they posted the item and all is well, not everyone is on the PC 24/7 - perhaps try ringing the seller??
