Poor service from global shipping program

From the time of arrival at the Global Shipping Centre to the day of delivery it took twenty one days, twelve of those days were without tracking. Complaints fell on deaf ears; l was told to contact the seller, when the problem was clearly out of their hands.

During this period l purchased an item in a private sale from New York and it was shipped via USPS with tracking at all times, even with Australia Post. It arrived in nine days.

To make matters worse my parcel had been cut open at the Global Shipping Centre for "inspection" because it was supposedly a "restricted" item............they were wooden wedges for axe handles, hardly dangerous by any stretch of the imagination.

The Global Shipping Program is a con, it isn't faster, it doesn't provide better tracking and, the customer is the one paying for the service at least give them the option of how something is shipped

I don't believe the GSP has ever claimed to be faster.....it is well known that it as slow as a wet week.

If the declaration contained the word "axe" then it would definitely have been inspected....you are very lucky that it was inspected instead of being rejected for shipping as PB will not ship any sort of axe.

The break in tracking would have been while the item was at Erlanger KY, waiting for onshipping with FedEx when you would have been issued with another tracking number.

Whether a seller uses the GSP is up to them.....not ebay. The seller can opt out at any time but most of them are happy with the service as the item is tracked and insured and the seller is protected from bad feedback from disgruntled buyers.

Just avoid sellers who use it....you can ask if they will list the item with USPS but they do not have to.

Never mind Stawka, the seller is experienced and will no doubt know how to gt the feedback removed.

The break in tracking was after it left Kentucky, the word "axe" was only on the sales invoice enclosed inside the package (which l might add fits in the palm of your hand and is extremely light). l am suggesting that the buyer should have an option over shipping methods, after all they are paying for it. l think the buyer has a right to be happy not just the seller.

The buyer does have an option over shipping methods.....if they do not like the GSP and the seller will not opt out of it before the buyer hits the button then they just look for another seller. You are not forced to buy from a seller.

Many sellers do not know they are opted into the GSP and would not sell internationally. It is not unusual to see a listing stating that the seller only sells within the USA but there is the GSP information there as well.
