My experience might be helpful.I purchased nine vintage glass items and three were damaged from a American seller with GSP. Arrived at Kentucky GSP then was shipped to Australia.

GSP_seller is protected (You aren't responsible for item loss or damage that occurs after the item is forwarded by the US shipping center. Once an item has been forwarded by the US shipping center, you won't be responsible for refunding the buyer if an eBay Money Back Guarantee or PayPal Purchase Protection case is filed against you for one of the following reasons: A buyer claims an item isn't received or A package is damaged in transit.

To get your money back from ebay money back guarantee you must

1) Open return request -item not described -state GSP damaged in transit

2) contact seller- tell them about damage -seller cold be nice like my seller was and try to offer partial refund( don't take it or you will not get you pitney bowes GSP shipping back) or you could have a seller that says they are protected by GSP and you have to post damaged item back out of your own money for refund.( just ignore the seller

3)Ebay will email you to sort out refund request with seller or wait 4 days and then ebay can step in to help.At this stage your seller will be getting emails from ebay to refund you -once again just ignore any request from seller

4)email ebay - click on help then under popular solutions click on item isn't as described then contact us then select email.

Tell ebay all the details -GSP damaged in transit (you must keep telling ebay this) talking with ebay will help

5) After 4 days ask ebay to step in -reason select "can not work with seller' and repeat GSP damaged in transit seller should not be held responsible GSP should be and use photo of packaging (if like me GSP Kentucky repacked my parcel with only brown paper

Ebay Inc refunded all my money into my paypal . i got refunded the purchase price and the money from pitney bowes within the hour. I got to keep the undamaged glass and seller got to keep her money.

This is exactly what has to be done.
I would also add to speed up the process, speak to esculations from ebay as the normal ebay service staff are less than impressive in decision making.

How good is this.....the definitive information on how to get a resolution in a claim against the GSP from someone who has actually done it.

It is all very well for us boardies to pontificate on how it should work but experience is far better in the long run.

There a many of them brerrabbit.....have a scout round on CS as that is where they hang out.

When I first saw that spelling I thought it was some sort of ebayspeak until I worked out that they just could not speak proper English.
