Ebay would not be doing it intentionally, that would just generate bad feeling, as well as being illegal advertising.

I had trouble using a discount code once. I went to buy something & there was nowhere I could see to type it in.

What worked for me was I went back out and started again. I put the item in the cart instead of trying to buy outright.

Then I went to the cart.

Lo and behold, there was a spot to type in my discount code & it worked.

I don't know if trying it that way will work for you but it would be worth giving it a go. Otherwise ring ebay and ask.

I'm having the same problem with PROUD code. Minimum spend is $120, and only half the listings I look at let you apply the code. All in the same category, and all over the $120 minimum. I haven't actually bought anything yet. I was trying to add the code at checkout before I made the purchase.

No, it still works. https://pages2.ebay.com.au/Buyer_coupons/proud It works on some listings, but not others.

PLOT10, cut and paste, says: Looks like that's the wrong code. Please double-check and try again.

Interestingly, some listings do not display the discount, while others do, and yes, they are over the $120 minimum. I am only looking at BIN listings, so it's difficult to tell what the reason is.

Proud works on 323716134906 but not 1065975240018. Add them to checkout to see for yourself.

I also just tested PLAY5 and that doesn't work on the same listing.

Some listings are excluded from discount codes, even though they qualify for the minimum spend.

There must be some hidden reason that they are excluded.

The last one I had was $20 off if I spent $200 and the one before that for spending $120.....like that was going to happen.

I wish eBay would give me codes that apply at lower more reasonable amounts.

The lowest one, PLUCK3, has a minimum spend of $30, and is 3% off. PLAY5 is $70 min and 5%. PROUD is $120 min and 10%. You can also combine purchases to reach the minimum.

What I was asking about is the fact that some listings seem to be excluded from any codes at all. Proud works on 323716134906 but not 1065975240018 with similar feedback sellers, 50-99, so it's difficult to understand what this hidden criteria is.

I haven't seen much on eBay recently that I've wanted to buy to reach minimum amounts for discounts.

Just looking at my purchasing records lately, of my last 11 purchases only 3 were on eBay and the postage was more expensive for the last one.

A lot of promo codes are item/seller/country specific. Maybe your seller isn't an eligible seller. Micro SD cards for $7 each would tend to indicate they aren't an Australian seller.
