Do you get more exposure with a $50 store than a basic store?

Thanks.

eBay suggest that you do, in that any time I've ended a listing, I get a message on screen advising me to upgrade my store subscription to increase my exposure, but I don't personally put any stock in it - they don't promise anything, or mention anywhere else that more expensive store subs give you any kind of boost in rankings, at any rate. To me, it seems more like a roundabout (i.e. misleading) way of suggesting the bigger shop / more items you have, the easier it is to get found.

IMHO at best, it might be something still left-over from back when a store didn't have any free listings as part of the package, and the difference was $80 a month rather than $30 (so you paid 5 x more for a small break on fees, and maybe increased exposure).

Unless you are a large volume Chinese seller, then it doesn't matter what you do, you won't get higher than them. Usually the lower the feedback score the higher up the page they are.

No, store type has notthing to do with it, It all comes down to Ebays secret herbs and spices they put in their search formula. That in turn changes regularly, I suspect to reflect whatever new "feature" they are pushing

Wont be long before free return post option gets promted and if you dont have you go down the bottom.

Feature store just gives more inclusive listings. So if you dont at least use full 500 you are wasting your money. Not sure if theres a fvf difference as well..Just check fees structures to see if its worth it for you.

No need to guess - Todd Alexander from ebay tells all in this video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6znSUKtKH0

My tips:

1. List regularly so you are at the top of search as a new listing

2. When free listings are available relist your items a special way - what you do is end your listings then go to Selling manager Pro under Unsold items and relist using "Sell Similar" - this is critical as Sell Similar creates a new item number and effectively starts your listing anew because if you sell your item as Good til cancelled (as I do) after a few months of not selling it disappears into oblivion so you need to refresh it.

3. Use item specifics - these will become even more critical this year as those listings without them will be dumped lower (as Todd explains in the video)

If no watchers use sell similar. However be very careful when using sell similar that you dont miss any, or double list. Using relist you know if you have done it or not.

The formulas keep changing. A guid ewould be whatever "recommendations" ebay are pushing are the ones they want you to use, so it makes sense they will subtly load these in search formula.

Whether best match ranking is important to you will depend on catagory and how buyers are likely to browse. most people will use default unless the have a good reason not to.
