I like to do things straight away, on the spot, so I dont have to think about it and its not taking up space in my little brain. So if I see a sale, I pack it up and send, immediately, same day. Its a bit like someone who likes to keep a house.. ultra clean. lol

I've never been much one for the clean house My place is the personification of the phrase "looks like a bomb went off in here..." 😮 But, perhaps strangely, leaving an item unpaid was an ickier feeling to me than an untidy house, so I was pretty fastidious with that.

Since those early days, though, I have gotten a little bit more casual. I do like the luxury of browsing, buying, and later making one or only a few payments at the end. It usually only takes me 1-2 hours to finalise everything if I haven't paid immediately, and I still couldn't leave a purchase unpaid for days without contacting the seller, but at the same time I kind of understand how some buyers might have got used to a longer browse / shopping session, then settling up at the end, especially if it's lots of little things.

Strangely, I have a number of buyers who buy, pay, then come back a couple of hours later, buy - pay. Once in a while it goes on for days, and because I do post ASAP after payment, I sometimes think they could have save a decent chunk of money if they accrued the purchases for combined post (have mentioned it to some of the regulars, but the buying patterns tend to remain the same o_O ).

Totally agree but it is the way of the world nowdays.

How many times have you gone to pay for something in a shop and the person in front of you, who is being served, holds the whole line up because they don't have enough money and have to transfer it on their mobile phone? That drives me nuts too!

Why the heck would you go and buy something without the ability to pay for it?

Ebay give buyers 4 days to pay so there is no point in stressing about it. At least they are paying which according to some posters is a rare experience these days

It probably wouldn't be the case in every instance, but some buyers are under the impression they need to transfer funds into PayPal in order to pay via PP, and so some buyers will BIN an item (or several, from the same or various sellers), transfer the total funds, then pay.

I kinda used to do that. Not make sellers wait for the money, though, not if I could help it anyway. I knew about eCheques, but I preferred sending instant payments (and didn't have a credit / debit card when I started on eBay), so when I spotted something I wanted to buy, I tranferred the money and then made the purchase when it cleared. Most (if not all) of my early purchases were auctions, so I'd usually transfer money in as soon as I saw something I wanted to bid on, so I could pay as soon as the auction was finished. Sometimes, if I saw something near the end of the auction duration, before I bid I'd message the seller to ask if they'd mind waiting a day or two for payment.

Thats it.

If I was serious about the time line, or that it was actually getting me upset, I would not have put the "lol" or written "its driving me nuts".

Thats it.

If I was serious about the time line, or that it was actually getting me upset, I would not have put the "lol" or written "its driving me nuts".

Cheap items are the things people buy because they are cheap not because they are chomping at the bit for it. So paying is in the no big deal or hurry basket
