when on earth are we going to get an ebay CEO that actually knows how business works, and brings back fairness for all.

The stupid MBG should be removed. The negative feedback button should be returned for sellers to use against buyers that deserve it.

And don't let me get started on the defects thingy

Ebay used to be a fair place to trade. Buyers and sellers knew where they stood, now sellers are constantly wondering which buyer is going to rip them off.

Ebay is supposed to be a just platform that brings buyers and sellers together. Now it not only assists the scammers, its also both judge and executioner.

Sold a leather jacket few weeks back from my other account; then a return request opened, wrong size / doesn't fit blah blah blah you know the drill.

Buyers seems to be a new comer with only 3 feedback scores; since sizing is clearly stated in my listing, I believe she must have missed it, you know, being new to ebay and all.

I tried to work things out with her but no luck, so I accepted return.

Now parcel arrived my place, guess what's in there?

A cheap and nasty shirt, not the jacket I sent her earlier.

I think keep communicating with this scammer is not going to have any result, so the only way left is to contact ebay, isn't it?

But how do I convince them about this? How do I proof that the buyer didn't really return the correct item?

The parcel was fully traceable, and I signed for it....

Now what I do...

Help.

Seems like buyer remorse if those are the reasons stated by the buyer. You are not obliged to accept such returns unless your listing policy says you do.
But I would certainly be on the phone to EBay about it. Do you have another witness that saw you open the package to find the shirt? If do ask them to sign a stat dec that says so. If EBay find against you then raise a case with The ACORN. That puts the matter into the hands of the federal police.
this is the monster ebay have created with their MBG, disgraceful.

Don't know what to add other than what Clarry already has said. Unless you write them an official letter stating unless the leather jacket is returned to you by the weeks end that you will be passing all their information, address, phone number, paypal account details onto the online fraud dept.

It might convince them to do the right thing. If you don't get any reply then for sure actually fill out a report with ACORN and lodge it. here is the website address.
http://www.acorn.gov.au/

Check you postal receipt and it should state the weight of what you sent.

Then take photos of the package you received,(including the weight).

That should show a big discrepancy in weight and it should help your case.

I don't think it is buyer remorse at all. It is not as if the buyer returned the jacket. It is buyer swindle.

The seller has now signed something to say they received 'it' back.

I think clarry & the others are right-ring ebay. See what proof you can provide as far as postage weight etc & stat dec.

I would actually contact the buyer, just to let them know you did not receive the right item, you have proof as the weight wasn't in line with the original postage rate you are handing the matter over to the police if they don't make good. The buyer isn't scared of ebay but they may get the wind up if you mention ACORN or the fraud squad.

Oh and in future, I wouldn't be accepting returns if I were you, not for change of mind. If people buy clothes online they take the risk it may not be a perfect fit. I think buyers who expect you to take it back are a bit rude.

Yep it's because of things like this unions eventually get formed. I don't think there is an established Union to fight for online businesses yet and maybe in the future we will get one. For now, just imagine we are 5 year olds in the 1800 having to work hard labor 16 hours a day.

This is just awful !!! I fully agree with the advice given here from some great eBay members.
These types of sellers must be held accountable ........it's going to be a lot of work, but please persecere.
Also, whenever speaking with eBay, if you don't get a good enough response; ask to speak to a supervisor. Best wishes

I generally agree Casbit...

But the ability for a seller to use NEG against a buyer was being misued by sellers in the past and that is why they took it away.

So its more of a feel-good button for sellers really. But in itself does no good to protect other sellers from misbehaving buyers.

If they did bring it back I would also want to see some mechanism in place something like the UPI case where a seller can set up options to block buyers who have accrued, say, 2 or more NEGs in the past 12-months or something like that.

Or perhaps themselves have issued other sellers 2 or more NEGs in the past 12-months.

The fact that a buyer has NEGs against their name cannot be seen by a seller until after they have bought and paid for a BIN item.

And then you have no option but to mail out their item and sweat waiting for that next big red dot for you.
