How do I go into and change an amount in an invoice that I sent to a buyer.

What exactly is it you want to change? You can't change the purchase price after the sale, you can apply a discount, but only up to the amount of the postage charge, and if it was free post, then you can't discount either.

just send another invoice...it will negate the first one

DO NOT hit recalculate. That is eBay speak for 'revert to original'.
