How to Report a Member for using our photos

I have tried to find an appropriate suject but cannot find it.

We have found a Chinese seller who has stolen our pics and is using them in their listings.

Their search results are way up top of page #1 well above ours.

Of course we don't like them selling products using our stolen pics.

I suspect it will be like banging one's head on a brick wall tho.

And since they are located in China ebay.au will be unlikely to do anything about it.

There are no watermarks on the pics but the background we use is pretty unique to us and is clearly evident throughout our pics.

Any ideas on how this kind of avtivity can be reported?

It's so difficult to find the right place. Kinda like they dont want you to report it.

Clarry are you watermarking your photos? You need more than just the ebay mark at the bottom of the pictures that anyone can just cut out. Slap one across the entire picture. This is the only way you will stop people using your photos.

Also if you allowed ebay to catalogue your photos then it's open slather to anyone who wants to use them.

Unfortunately we have not watermarked them.

It's so easy these days to scrub out the watermarks with free software we didn't waste the time to do that.

Even if they had our watermarks would ebay still do anyhting about it?

We reported an Oz seller about a year ago for stealing one of our pics and that one did have a watermark on it, which they had scrubbed out. They never did anything and that seller still has the listing there to this day.

We tried contacting the seller asking them to take it down but never got any reply of course.

We have not knowingly allowed ebay to catalogue the pics. How do we know if/not we have done this?

They only have to use the "Have one to sell" Sell it yourself link at the bottom of the picture and voila they have your picture in the listing template (or at least they did the last time I used that link).

You can check under Account - Site Preferences - Share your photos to see if it says yes or no

Frustrating isn't it. I have had whole listings stolen/copied (including my terms) and have been unable to have them removed. You can try ringing them if it really irks you but I haven't heard of anyone having much success getting them taken down.

Then you can only report them via Email,Chat or by ringing them as there is no category for it in the report

section.

As they are Chinese listings your chances are slim as they aren't governed by the same rules as we are and

reported sellers have no action taken against them.

Those other photos have a watermark on them which is not their store name

Clarry ebay will do nothing if they are not watermarked. I have successfully had a couple removed but my watermark was very clear across the picture.

You should start watermarking your photos.Many of my pics were stolen like this.Now i use this software Mass Watermark to bulk watermark and resize my pics.Take a look at this video,very easy to use.

The last time (a few months ago) I tried to report an infringing listing I ended up joining eBay's "VeRo" program.

Once I had submitted the paperwork they were pretty fast to act. Here is the info:

In the meantime I would encourage you to keep records of things that might prove they are your images

eg take screen shots of the listings (hopefully your item will show an earlier date etc), heck even screen

shots of the image's exif data (which shows when original image was taken and what device was used etc).
