Help with Fee Structure

Can someone help. I've read the info on the fee structure and from that believe that you don't have to pay a listings fee for the first thirty items in a month and thereafter you are charged a fee. Is this correct? If so why when I try and sell a denim jacket for $6 am I charged $2 by ebay.

That will mean I might make $4 but might lose $2 if it doesn't sell.

There is also a Final Value Fee of 7.9% if you sell an item on eBay. This will go up to 9.9% in May (but other fees will be removed to make up for it, such as free scheduled listing, free BIN option with auctions and an upgrade to 40 free listings each month).

The only other fee is charged by PayPal (if the buyer pays that way) and that is 2.4% of the total price, plus a standard 30c fee which doesn't go up in price.

cant see you listing so hard to comment,

however if you choose a Sub Title, or extra photos, or scheduled listing, etc.etc. they all cost money to list (it is only the basic listing fee that is free).

once your item sells you'll also pay a final value fee (a % of the sold price), you will also pay fees to PayPal to receive funds that way too..

so listing at $6 may end up costing you money!
