This is a message I got from a potential buyer :

"Hi i would like to buy 3 ov these cushions buy yu have set some restrictions.....plz can yu remove rhe restrictions. So i can buy i reli like these cushion covers"

My reply:

Generally restrictions are there for my protection as a seller.

If a buyer has:
- received 2 unpaid item strike(s) within 12 month(s)
- a primary postage address in countries that I don't post to
- had 4 policy violation report(s) within 6 month(s)

Then unfortunately I can't sell you the items.
If it something other than the above, then please let me know and I will check my settings.

Don't you just love the BBL feature of Ebay?

Yes, half the reason I blocked her was because of the terrible spelling 🙂

There's already enough angst just dealing with Ebay on a day to day basis.

At least I was polite in my reply.

Sigh .......... I agree, but this is the language with which some people communicate with each other and they understand each other perfectly. Almost looks like Klingon to me.

Just can't imagine anybody spelling/speaking like that and having the ability to open an eBay account......IMO I think this blocked buyer knew exactly what the score was and decided to turn your crank handle - somewhat successfully it would seem.

BBLs certainly are a sellers, must have, as evidenced with your recent experience, but why the leniency with your restrictions? Surely a 1 unpaid item strike would be more appropriate.

You can't block a buyer with only 1 unpaid item strike - the ebay system doesn't allow it.

The difference is Joe, you're just a bad speller, period. You don't deliberately change the spelling ov words because you think it loox "cute" or because it's trendy, or any other reason why these bogans insist on using stupid spelling. If you wanted to write the word "gate", you'd write that word (even if not spelled correctly), you wouldn't deliberately spell it g8 on purpose.

I am not going to comment about how bad the spelling was that the so called buyer used .

But the thought did cross my mind that there is a slim possibility the buyer in question in the opening message could be totally Deaf.

Now I did say a slim possibility.

I have a totally Deaf sibling and when he signs with his fingers or writes anything down it is a common practice with the Deaf community to take shortcuts with their spelling and even words.

Just something to think about I am not saying the buyer IS Deaf I am just saying there could be another reason for the bad spelling.

Whether buyer (who was actually based in the UK) was deaf or not (which I doubt, as her message sounds uneducated more than anything else), I'm just pleased that she was unable to buy from me due to the restrictions in place.

I reckon I dodged a potential bullet.

Tippy and Joe know each other's preferred communication methods and besides the gist of the post has been missed.

Tippy is agreeing with Joe's post by conversely using the OP's situation as an example that it differs from Joe's humble self analogy.

And we all love someone able to admit the truth about themselves.

Exactly! There was definitely no heat coming from me. I think if my post upset Joe, he would have said so.

i have no idea what this is about , tippy has said nothing to me on this thread,

if i was tippy i would be asking the mods , what was this about.

i thought kopes post was spot on.

there are only 2 tings about me 1 is i dont spell that well and the other is i am handsome , ok i might of exsaturated
