like freightcar said, she was prepared to bid on and buy the item just not for that much, so hopefully you both find a happy middle ground.

Good luck

So annoying - what do I do now?

I sold a number of items over the last couple of weeks, including four to the same person. Two of those four items ended last night and went for very good prices. The buyer has now advised me that she wishes to cancel the last two as her daughter put the bids on and she didn't intend to go that high.

I can understand that mistakes can be made, and I can't force the buyer to proceed, I am just really annoyed. There were a number of other people interested in those two items and they didn't bid because they were put off. I have made second chance offers to the underbidders but I don't know whether they will take them.

I guess I am just venting, but any advice?

Tricky, as it is all the same buyer. My thought to opening UPI dispute would most likely not be recommended as at the end of the dispute they can only recieve one strike anyway (not 4 for all items) and this action may cause them to canel all 4. Someone else will no doubt habe some advice, but I am stumped.

My suggestion would to be negotiating.

She said she wasn't prepared to go that high??

How high was she prepared to go? Once you get this figure then somewhere between what she said was her highest and your sale price there may be a price you can both agree on.

A sale is a sale to take what you can get.

Sorry I should have been clearer - she wants to proceed with the first two she bought, but doesn't want to proceed with the other two.

I am just really annoyed because her bidding put other people off.

Personally I think she has to pay... she agreed to the terms and conditions for bidding on eBay and is legally under contract.

If she gives unfair feedback, you can get it removed as it will have been spiteful so my suggestion is to contact eBay and start proceedings for the entire amount.

Unless you offer unconditional refund.

I would invoice for the two she wants and then once she has paid I would open unpaid item disputes for the other two.

At the very least she should have offered to cover the cost of your fees for the two that she bought 'by mistake'.

The worst that could happen is she could neg you for the two items she has paid for but you would have a decent chance of getting them removed on the grounds that they only left them because they got unpaid item strikes for other items.
