Hi Trev here,I recently sold a galaxy S3 i9300T in for parts and not working,the screen was cracked,but all other functions still worked,I mentioned in the listing that the phone would not be posted till the funds cleared into my bank account from pay pal approximately 3 days,the guy bought the phone and i replied,i will post as soon as the money was cleared to my bank,He replied rudely and said no that's not good enough,you got the money you should post it,i said cant you read the item description,any way over the week end passed and i posted it on 7/05/2013 and i marked it as posted on the 8/05/2013,it took 2-5 business days to get from me to him,on the 4th day,there is a pay pal depute waiting for me,pay pal froze my money,any way i sent the tracking details to pay pal his item was delivered in time and he lost the depute,i got my money back,so he got smart and left me bad feedback,my first bad feedback in years,what gives him the rite to do this.the item was delivered on time and it was as described,I contacted ebay about this and got a message back saying they cannot remove it,ITS JUST NOT FAIR.

Hi Trev,

You need to actually call eBay and explain what happened. Emailing them or speaking with them via Live Chat is usually a complete waste of time.

Just give them a call and see what they say.

how did the buyer pay, paypal e-check?

oh i see in your listing...

i only accept pay pal payment and it will take 3 days to clear to my bank account,at that time i will post the item,as i don't have the cash to post at the end of the auction

but i thought PP hold payments for a while in case of chargeback?

Ebay will not remove that feedback...there is no reason for them to do so.

Once the buyer's payment is in your paypal account you should post the item. By making the buyer wait till the funds have transferred to your bank account you have given him good reason to say that your service was lacking.

Please don`t be offended, but you were wrong in waiting for the funds to transfer to your account, once a buyer pays by paypal it is considered Paid, and you should post the item, not wait till the funds transfer. it will usually only take 3 days on average but known to take a lot longer on occasions, and you expected your buyer to wait. I have to ask why?

Stating those terms in your listing is irrelevant. it is not the buyers fault you chose to delay sending their items. May be he thought you were stalling and opened a dispute just in case.

I don`t see why ebay would remove the FB either, but your response does you no favours, and appears like a threat to discredit the buyer on a social media.

In future, I suggest you simply have a 3 or so day handling time, and don't state in the listing why you have a 3 day handling time, because that's what's irrelevant.

No paypal don`t hold funds for that reason,

They do however freeze the funds whilst a dispute is in progress,

wouldve been better off to state you will post 2-5 buisness days after cleared payment without any explanations.

and who hasnt got 8 bucks to post the item after receveing a PP instant payment anyhow?

As far as I am aware the PO accepts paypal now, so it is not acceptable to say you don't have the money to post until the funds are in your bank account.

The buyer should read the listing and if he/she does not agree with the terms than they should not buy or bid,i wouldn't,they were the terms and my feed back was very good,so i was not trusted,than feedback don't mean a thing,Don't take this the wrong way its just my opinion,cheers.

You can pay online with Paypal for Click & Send Lyndal, I don`t think that applies to over the counter transactions, may be I am wrong, would be great if you could.

You may be right shypansy. All the more reason for the OP to register for Click and Send....slightly cheaper postage, paypal protection and able to use paypal to pay.

Anyone selling on ebay or anywhere else for that matter, can register for click and send. It doesn't matter whether you are a low volume seller or not.

And by the way, for small satchel parcels less than 500 grams, click and send is not cheaper. The cheapest for under 500g is over the counter (your own packaging) - $6.95 with tracking - click and send $7.20 for the same service.

Op, Do phone ebay, it doesn't hurt to try since you did at least say in your listing you would send after payment cleared to your bank account. However I tend to agree with what has been said above.

the buyer agreed to and then disregarded the sellers "term and condition" of the sale... they could have moved on to another listing that did not have that term and condition but chose not to

.... you need to communicate this to ebay..... firmly .. do not take NO for an answer.

you need to make it clear it was an original term of the auction not to post until payment had cleared to your bank account by sending ebay copies of the term in your item decription and the buyers emails stating it was not good enough dated after the sale.

The time for the buyer to email and query was before they committed to the purchase of the item as per the contract of sale

... there is not much more the buyer can do to you they have already negged. I would block their username on your special list.

I agree with the others in that you are much better stating a 5 or 7 day handling time with no reason why.....

Be firm and start by laying these two little gems on them and the buyers post sale rude email that your terms and conditions re handling time were not good enough

There is absolutely no reason why anybody should wait until payment clears into their bank. The only thing it will achieve is to annoy the buyer. If the buyer claims INR or SNAD having no money in your PP account will not help, PP will get it back one way or another. I generally stay away from such sellers, because it only shows their lack of understanding how PP works and/or it means they are expecting trouble with transaction = like knowing they left out something important from the description.

The PP notice of payment says "you have received $X from..... and you can now post your item" ; the money is yours and you have no moral right holding onto the item.

Of-course, some people are unable to post every day, but that is another matter; saying can only post Friday because........... is a different to saying I will hold onto your money and item for several days for absolutely no good reason at all.

Yes there is the reason being the sellers terms and conditions of the sale.. If the buyer does not agree the they should not bid. If a buyer purchases the item and then comlains about a condition of the sale then they have

Which is what they did and can be proved by the buyers post sales demands that were in contradiction to the sellers terms and conditions

I would even suggest if the seller fails to go the defamation route and have the feedback removed especially if the buyer threatened negative feedback becasue the seller would not capitulate
