Hi, I have reached the 100 item limit. I have 4 positive feedbacks and I have sold 3 more items. I want to request another 100 items the same month I opened - this month. I want to list them this weekend.

Now this is the thing I am confused about. I paid $20 a month for 200 listings, if I request another 100 will those listings be free as I would have a total of 200 listings which is advertised as free on Ebay for a store each month.

Thanks.

i very much doubt you will be given more listings with so few feedback. You have to prove your capabilities as a seller. Just because you opened a store does not mean they are going to allow you more listings you really should have waited.

Please try and understand. I have told you before, more than once.

You will not get more listings until you have a fb of 50 as a seller.

It doesn't matter that you paid for a store. Dem's da rules

You were lucky to get your listings upped to 100 without linking it

to another high selling id

And I also mentioned that you should have done your research

and waited for that fb to get higher

Oh, and you know the bit that really stinks?

Not everybody gives you feeback

Paying $20 for a store with 200 free listings per month does not over ride the selling restriction of 100 listings you currently have as a new seller. To be honest, you are fortunate to have a limit of 100, as many new sellers have a lot less than this. Do you have another selling account linked to this new one ?

The selling restrictions for new sellers are designed to prevent fraudulant activity where people set up selling accounts, list and sell a large number of high value items and then simply dissapear without sending the items to buyers.

The main ways to increase selling limits are -

* Adding a credit card to your account details

* linking an existing, established selling account with high feedback numbers to your new selling account

* Selling enough items over time to get your feedback scores up to a level that ebay accept as proof of your bona fides as a seller. I dont know what this feedback figure is but some forum posters have suggested this is around 50 positive feedbacks as a seller.

The best thing may be to contact customer service about what you will need to do to raise your selling limit. There is a seperate department that is responsible for this, but this department is reached in the first instance through customer service.

edit - beat me to the punch lines stawka

The main ways to increase selling limits are -

* Adding a credit card to your account details

* linking an existing, established selling account with high feedback numbers to your new selling account

I did both of those and they still wouldn't up the limits.

Supervisor patiently said no and no and no and no - ad infinitum

Other account had over 1000 fb

If OP gets his 200, I'll <STRIKE>scream blue murder</STRIKE> not be happy

He will, I won't

I had well over 1,000fb on my main account when I opened my second. Linking them and doing all the above lifted my limit from 10 to 30. I now have 164 fb on that account and still have a limit of 100. I'd be very surprised if the OP got an increase to 100 in their first month, whether they would get another increase in the first month, especially as you can only request a limit increase once a month.

I haven't actually requested an increase on my second account, I've just let it increase on its own. I might get on and request one soon though.

Yes, at the top of your MyeBay page there is a panel that lists your limit, how many sales and active listings you have for the current month and how many you can still add.

It is worth mentioning as well that multiple quantity listings, while they only count as one for the free listings, will count as multiples for the listing limits. So if you create one listing with a quantity of 10 it uses one free listing from your monthly allowance but counts as 10 listings off your listing limit.

eBay do not generally entertain limit increases more than once a month and after a few increases, you may find they start to grant them without you needing to ask.

Nothing will get around the monthly selling limit imposed by ebay. They are the only ones who can change it.

You have no choice but to continue trading and hoping your buyers leave feedback (Positive) for you.

We all had to start out this way. It just takes time.

Every 30-days (and not a minute before) you can request ebay to increase your selling limit.

They will assess your account and, if they approve, they will increase the limit.

We had to start out this way and every month (for 2-years) we called them to increase it. They never refused us.

Eventually they increased our limit to 500,000 without us asking.

Essentially this is unlimited for us so we don't need to worry about it any more.

The only way I can see for you to list more items is to start another ebay Id and attach a credit card straigt away. This account will be severly limited on selling numbers too, so will only be a small bit of help. I suppose you could open several new accounts. I cant see why this would not work. Many of us have multiple selling accounts.

It takes time to build a business on ebay, build a client base and basically learn the ropes.

Having said that, your photos and listings look very proffesional, your product lines are excellent and you should do very well if you provide good customer service. I would have no hesitation in buying your products even with the low feedback number. Have you had an online or ebay business before ? ( if not, congratulations on the presentation )

Ebay may take this into account when setting your monthly limits.

Each month you will be allocated a new batch of 200 free listings (not items) for your store.

But this is different from your monthly selling limit.

If you have a monthly selling limit of 100 then all you can have listed (or sold) at any one time is 100 items.

And if you have any multi-quantity listings then each of those count as an item.

So eg one single listing with 10 items on it will count as 10.

Also your SOLD items count against your limit as well.

So if you have 10 items sold then you can only have 90 more as active listings.

You can request this selling limit to be increased but only once each calendar month.

With your store you get an allocation of 200 free listings each month, but if you have a listing limit of 100 you will only be able to use 100 of your free listings. There is no way around the listing limits, you can't pay to avoid them, you just have to work within them until eBay decides you can have an increase. There is no way of knowing what figure they will pick next month (or even if they will grant one at all). I started with 10, which they increased to 30 as soon as I asked. Then I had to wait till I had 25 fb before they would grant a firther increase which took me to 100. After a month on 100, I asked again and they increased me to 150, then a month later 200, and since then they have just increased my limit every couple of months without me having to ask. You were lucky in my opinion that they agreed to give you 100 so quickly. I would be surprised if you got a further increase until your feedback builds to 50 or more.

Also, a limit of 100 means 100 items per month, NOT 100 items at a time. If you list 100 items this month, and sell 20, you cannot replace those 20 listings until next month. If the other 80 are still listed at the start of next month, you will only be able to list 20 to replace the sold items from this month. You will not be able to add another 100 next month, it is 100 altogether. And, as I said above, multiple quantity listings count as multiple items from your listing limit.

One suggestion - I read a couple of your listings and you had " plenty of sets available " in the description, but you only had one item listed.

When you are going through the listing process there is a box, just below half way down on the first page ( near the box for price ) where you can insert the number of items or sets of items you have for sale. If you have eight sets of springs, insert 8 in the box. this way buyers can buy more than one of the items if they wish and it helps with your stock control as you can look at the listing to see how many sets you still have for sale.

Another advantage of using this system is people that are watching your item receive an ebay alert when your stocks have nearly run out. You often find items will sit with watchers for several months and as you run low on stocks, you will get a flurry of sales as buyers dont want to miss out. Often several in a day.

On mine, in the My eBay All Selling page, between active items and sold items there is a box that tells you what your limit is, how many you've sold that month and what your $$ limit is.

Yes, at the top of your MyeBay page there is a panel that lists your limit, how many sales and active listings you have for the current month and how many you can still add.

Nope, don't have either.

Edit - Just found this -

Note: Some older eBay accounts won't have the Monthly selling limits section in My eBay (or Selling Manager).
