With some exceptions, I say "thanks for letting me know", and cancel the order.

Without getting a defect. Don't ask me how.... I just don't. (Must be the way I do it 😮 ).

All smart comments aside. As a new seller its important to know. I have had it happen a few times now and its important to get back fees you shouldn't have to pay as you did'nt earn anything. What I normally to is at the bottom of the page there is a link.

Help & Contact or Site Map both of these will help you to navigate thru and collect your fees back , at least it works for me EVERY time.

You can cancel without a defect if you select Buyer changed mind as the reason. If you think the buyer may be the ind that makes a habit of this you can just wait till day 4 and open an UID. If you do cancel, message the buyer and tell them you are doing so and that they will get an email form eBay asking them to confirm their agreement to the cancellation, and that they must reply to avoid a penalty from eBay. This usually gets an immediate response to the cancellation and saves you having to wait for it to time out in 10 days.

As a new seller OP was given massive amounts of advice. Which he generally didn't take. And then admitted he is lazy and found it easier to ask on the boards rather than find it on the site map.

So your advice will likely fall on the same lazy ears as all the rest.
