I would have asked them to return the item, without suggesting opening a request.

Then you could have refunded under buyer changed mind.

Yes now you run the risk of the buyer selecting the incorrect reason and getting all costs refunded.

I've agreed to a return as the buyer has changed their mind as the item is too big for their son. I've asked them to initate a return request, if they select "Doesn't Fit" rather than "Change of Mind" I am obliged to refund their original postage. Given the item was listed as "Mens" and they purchased for a child I see it as a Change of Mind.

Thanks for any help.

Thanks Kopes.

the buyer was absolutely wonderful. I actually went to pick up the item, to save return postage as it was only 15 mins away and spent an hour chatting with the lady! Have a new friend now! I actually offered to return postage as well whilst I was there and she said "no way, I don't expect it" An absolutely wonderful lady!
