Autograph Selling

Why are people allowed to get autographs or concert tickets & sell them on Ebay at high prices? Singers are clearly displaying their anger at this happening and the real fans getting ripped off.

What does Ebay propose to do to stop this happening?

They have a policy regarding signatures and likenesses

They are a US seller

Concert tickets are not supposed to be resold for more than retail price.

To be fair, the seller you've given us is not just selling autographs.

They're selling the record with the cover signed by the artist. People

will pay what they think that record is worth with the signature.

No policy will cover stupidity

They are not selling concert tickets

I was giving the other half of the answer to the OP's querie.

OP, that seller can list that record album at any price they like but doesn't mean it will sell.

I hate seeing books for sale as ..autographed.

EG-some of Peter Brocks books have a signature on the title page.

that is part of the printing and in every copy.

I have books signed with a biro, and I advertise them as signed. I don't see a problem with that, nor do my buyers.

The difference is, your buyers know they're getting a hand signed signature rather than a printed version. I know that my Leo Sayer CD has his signature hand done with biro. You can see where it's been pressed into the cardboard cover and it has my name on it. He gave away 10 autographed copies a few years ago when he was doing an online interview and I was one of the lucky 10 (well, I reckon I'm lucky because I like his music).

Thanks for your answers, it's taken me time to find them as I don't use Ebay since Paypal accounts had to be used to sell anything.

My reasons for asking were twitters from rock stars who say they won't sign anything due to the ebayers

Can't take da ebayers so un42nutzly I's won'tz b signing things 4 awhile. Much Love 2 the real fans!! Ebayers Suck!! Sick as a dogg!! N' so over the ebayers!!

Although security try to move them on it's unfair for those who want an album signed to keep. To personalise every autograph takes time so the real fans lose out. Unless it's a body part I suppose. 😄

Ok found this which isn't a band released CD. It's been made up by someone & made into their own CD & sold, is this wrong or right?

My understanding is you can't make your own CDs from unauthorised recording & sell it.

AC/DC 4 Cd set. Rock or bust tour live France and Belgium May 2016. Axl Rose lead vocals. Mega rare cd in excellent condition.

any real star who refuses to sign a fans whatever needs to get a life if the excuse is ebay. fine if some twit wants 50 items signed tell em to take a hike, but 1 items not going to make that 1 fan rich.

too many 'so called' stars are just plain lazy and very ungracious, its all about the money money money, these days with the no talent poor excuses for 'stars' we have thrown at us on the tv screens.

buying a 'signed' item on ebay is fraught with danger. so many fakes.

I have a genuine Peter Brock signature on a Matchbox car (a Commodore, what else!) - the only problem is there is no proof aside from the fact I had him sign it when he was there to open the Bendigo Bank branch at Mooroolbark Terrace, where he signed hundreds of other things as well.

I also have a signed CD album of Andre Rieu when he visited Eastland Shopping Centre about five years ago, again with no proof or photos or the like.

I won't ever list them on eBay as I know there's a good possibility I'll get scammed and eBay will ALWAYS side with the buyer.

i have a cricket monopoly game signed by glenn mcgrah but no proof so not very valuable i dont think.
