image looks blurry whats the issue

My image looks funny when viewed in preview (when being searched) but when i click on the listing it becomes sharper. What could the issue be?

The quality is perfect when I click on the listing but it just looks blurry and small in preview mode. The size is 1600 x 960.

That should be big enough. I have no idea what eBay's thumbnailing algorithm is, but the thumbnail is, after all, only meant to be a teaser.

eBay will compress larger images, so although they recommend a pic that's at least 1600 on one side, I tend to upload images no more than 800 x 800 and usually try to keep the file size down a bit, which is easier with plain backgrounds etc (they can still range from under 100kb for an 800 x 800 pic, to about 400kb if there's lots of detail).
