Possible scam?

I listed my iphone and the buyer asked for total invoice amount, in the invoice was the following message attached.

The buyer has not marked as paid nor have i receive payment via Paypal.

Can someone explain this to me, I thought Paypal was only method of payment.

With these sort of things only list with immediate payment required so until it is paid for there is no sale.

And ONLY send with tracking to the address seen on the paypal payment notice.

Total scam!!! Do not post! Do not reply. They are after your email address.

You can't post the phone o'seas anyway, because of the battery content.

Phones are the one of the high priced items that scammers look for from new sellers.

Open a NPB case in 4 days and then close it 4 days later, so you get your fees back

Put them on your Blocked Buyers List.

Don't go anywhere near it - it is not a possible scam - it IS a scam !

Whatever "payment" they are going to make is fake - regardless of what proof they are going to send you and offering you more money and sending the phone to someone else as a "gift" - it is all part of a well known SCAM !

KEEP AWAY - don't go anywhere near it - IT IS A SCAM ! - you are going to lose your phone and you will never see any money in any of your accounts anywhere !

The account is over 12 years old, 100% feedback, could it been hacked?

What is next step, can i report the username?but i dont want the orginal owner account to suffer if it was hacked

Definitely SCAM.

Could be using a hijacked account.

And trying to get your bank account details.

Cancel it to get your fee back, relist and block that account.

I would also block international buyers.

Blocking the account won't penalise original account holder.

When OAH sees an email with purchase they will prob contact eBay and change passwords.

don't even wait to do a NPB - REPORT the scammer ID to E-Bay and they will close his account. You will also get your FVF fee back immediately that way.

of course they will pop up somewhere else with a different name etc and scam another unsuspecting and trusting electronics seller who thinks they made a sale, but at least this seller is now warned and should know better next time, because as sure as day follows night as long as someone sells mobile phones etc on e-bay it will bring out the scammers in droves.......

Yes let E-Bay work it out if the account was hacked/hi-jacked or whatever. Just report the scam being perpetrated on you !

I paid for a product and I should have realised when asked me to wait for 25 days as they were having problems with the post. It just took me out of the 30 days timeslot to get a refund. They never intended to send the product and its just a scam

suzanna, provided you paid by Paypal you have 180 days in Paypal for INR.

The eBay 30 days is from the last estimated delivery time but for INR a PayPal case is better.

You also have 60 days to leave feedback to warn others.

Scammers target sellers with less than 10 feedbacks, who are selling very expensive electronic items. They are relying on the sellers inexperience in order to scam them. So my advice is to build up some experience and feedback by both buying and selling before you list expensive items.
