Adding UPC on listing

Have recently started having a problem when listing items as Brand New or New-Never Used. When I go to list the item, I get the red error message saying that the UPC is missing. However, there is nowhere that I can see on the listing page where i can add this information. If I change the status to "Used", the message disappears and I can list it. Obviously do not want to list something as used when it is new, Can anyone help me with this?

It's located beneath Store Categories & above Condition

I do not have "Store Category" - does this mean I need to be a store?

The only thing between category and condition is the Title!

Well that's where it should be.
Are you using a mobile device or a desktop/laptop?
Which web browser?
Recommend Chrome or Firefox on a desktop.
Maybe try clearing cookies and cache and see how you go.

Using a desktop and Google Chrome. Also tried it on a Mac laptop with Safari - same thing. The red error message keeps saying to add the UPC in the field below, but there is still no field to be found! Its a mystery!!

If it doesn't show as UPC try looking for Manufacturers part number and select Does not apply.

It should be top of the list in Item specifics. If it is a book it will say ISBN not UPC. There may be some other titles for specific catagories but those are the only two I have seen.

There are three versions of the listing form on a desktop - the quick listing tool, the old (full) listing form, and the new (full) listing form. I can't provide a screenshot of the quick listing tool or say where the UPC field is located as I don't have that on any of my accounts, but the following screenshots are from the old and new forms (if your listing form doesn't look like any of these, you likely have the quick listing tool, which you can usually switch from via a link that says 'Switch to advanced listing tool'. If you do not see that link, submit a listing - even if you have to pick 'used' to get it done - and then go in to revise the live listing, as you will then usually get the link to switch).

PROBLEM SOLVED

You can't switch between the Quick Listing tool and the Advanced Listing tool if the auction is active / live.

So here's how you add the UPC:

Select Selling/Sold from My Ebay to get the old school listing screen.

Select the item you want to add the UPC to, select another item as well (even if you're not adding the UPC to it) and then click the 'EDIT' button down the bottom of the Active box.

That will bring up the bulk listing tool and you can add the UPC from the pop up window.

You just select the one item that you're adding the UPC to, or if you have more than one listing to add the UPC to, just click on them one by one and add in the barcode number.

Click 'SUBMIT' and you're done.

And yet here I am struggling to find where the UPC field has gone... it WAS there, and apparently I put something invalid in. But it disappeared and so updates to threads like this are helpful for us newbies.

Many ressurrected threads contain out of date/incorrect information, so in many cases they are not helpful and cause problems.
