WE HAVE TO PAY EBAY LISTING FEES, PAYPAL FEES, AND NOW THESE INSANE FINAL VALUE FEES. HOW CAN SELLERS AFFORD TO LOOSE MONEY. BUYERS ARE NOT SPENDING MORE, THEY ARE SPENDING LESS. YET WE THE SELLERS GET CLOBBERED ALL THE TIME WITH FEES. THESE FEES NEED TO CHANGE.

I think eBay is considering changing fee structures again. They do hear some voice. Not from forums. I'm pretty sure they are getting heaps of emails of complaint.

I did eSayer survey about fee structures. They had 4 type of fee structures and asked me which one I prefer and why. 2 fixed fees and 2 sliding fees. Let's hope they do listen what people say.

But eBay changed this 7.9% flat fvf in September. One you've sold last month should have got the same FVF as the recent one. Unless it was before 22nd September or you had a store last month. If you sell items in your store as BIN listing you can still get sliding fvf fee.

Not quite right, my son sold a car last week on my I.D for $1260. & the fees were just short of $70.

As regards the OP's situation, if you are going to sell items of over $1000 it's worthwhile having a store, as auction and BIN fees for stores still have the sliding rate (NOT books).

FVF Fees for a $4000 auctioned spar (with a store) would be
75* .079 + (925*.05) + 3000 *.035 = 157.18.

Add in the $20 monthly store fee and it's more expensive than before, but the price has doubled rather than quadrupled.

Works out as a fee of less than 5%. Our local auction house charge between 15% and 20% (plus gst) to both buyers and sellers... (Though mind you, you don't have to worry about returns or paypal chargebacks for them).

They charged me over $400 in fees to sell a spa. Why would I want to be a store to pay over $150 in fees in selling a spa anyway. Its cheaper to make a new account and have it capped at $49.95 and no more to pay. Its easier and much cheaper this way, than having a store, or being a powerseller. Ebay fees are shocking.

ebay fees are definately out of control.

My insertion fees are going to rise 66%.

They are going to force me to take a shop.

Where is the freedom of choice?

Where are the alternative auction sites?

Keep the bastrds honest.

They are just trying to exdploit there customers.

Disgraceful.

Let them know.
