Hi, if I buy new electronic item from a store e.g. Target and sell it on eBay for profit, how does the seller get the warranty on the item? I would need to share the Target receipt/docket with the seller, which means they would know that I bought it for much less and will feel cheated. I see lot of electronic items that I can buy and sell for a profit but this stops me from going ahead. Any ideas?

Many manufacturers don't give the warranty if the item is resold. Especially if sold via an auction. I think you will find that in the fine print on most warranty terms and conditions.

I also think you may need to be an authorised re-seller to be able to do what you asking about...not sure dont quote me on it.

Nobody has to be an authorised reseller to sell anything they have purchased themselves retail.

Unless you are a business you are not obliged to offer any warranty

Usually there is a product warranty card with the item that can be filled in by anyone, more often than not you only need the product numbers on the item to do this, not the receipt.

If you have already registered the product then you would have to see if it was transferable, if you had registered it then you should probably sell it as second hand but in unused condition.
