Just in case....

Is there any possibility that the location and / or size of your return address may be tripping up AP's sorting machines?

In the past, I've seen sellers experience something similar to this and it turned out the return address was being scanned as the delivery address as it was in a relatively large font on the front of the packages. It might not seem likely if you've always done it the same way and this is a recent issue, but that's what those sellers said too (i.e. I've always put the return address there and haven't had issues before).

Obviously not relevant if there's no way this could be the issue, but thought I'd at least mention it.

As an aside, I haven't seen any increases in missing letters at all, or delays.

Im just wondering if others have had a spike in lost untracked mail in the last month. I am dumbfounded by the amount of INR's I am getting. There is a problem at the Perth mail center where mail is being bounced back to the originating PO - who then resend it then it gets bounced back ...

I know some maybe scammers trying for free products but I have regular customers also saying stuff is getting to them

Anyone else?? This is making Ebay avery expensive place to sell

No problems with untracked items but I do use priority stickers which I believe has helped immensly.

No problems with untracked. Don't usually send to Perth though.

Don't use Priority stickers. Tried it. Didn't make a difference to the times.

Only 'where is my item' one I have had was from a non-payer (hence why they had not been sent the item)

Have two, maybe three pieces of mail missing that were sent to me (not ebay things) but the senders are yet to ptfo and send me the tracking (two from Vic-NSW and the other from within NSW)

I'm in Perth and haven't had a single issue with mail from here (other than 2 pieces which were lost in a truck fire).

It's possible you have a crop of scam buyers at the moment.

Why don't you add tracking?

Thanks DG - I had that problem years ago so now use a return address on the back of the envelope and have been using the same size label etc for over 10 years. Its an Aust post problem as other from my area have had mail returned also. VERY frustrating.

Tracking would solve the problem - because adding $3 to the price of my products would mean I dont sell anything so nothing to send - nothing for Aust post to lose. 🙂

Thanks for the report about being in Perth with no problems. Im in Greenbushes (Near Bridgetown) and my mail goes to Bunbury then Perth but the folks at Bunbury are saying to the local PO here the problem is in Perth.

Oh well hopefully it sorts itself out. Thanks for your input.

I have no problem with items missing, but for about 6 months I keep getting letters for somebody who lives in the same number, same name street but different suburb. His address is correct, the post code on those letters is correct but they come here! I was told that is caused by the automatic sorting, and the posties do get their mail already bundled by house numbers and do not check. Of-course. posting them again does not work, they keep coming back. Scribbling all over them and underlining the post code seems to work though.
