well its a long story ill cut it short

sold 3 items on ebay equalling $500

next week my PP acc gets limited out of nowere

i apeal for it and provide every single document needed

next day it now sais This limitation cannot be appealed against

i ring up pp they thank me for providing the documents

i ask them why its still limited when iv resolved everything

they now tell me theres a risk ascociated with my acc ?

now i have to wait 180 days to be able to take out the $500

its complete bs ohnestly why dont they give my money back now? because they make an interest from MY money.

"risk" is just an excuse,

i provided paypal with all tracking id's of all the items sold, all have been shipped, customers are happy, no disputes and this happens out of nowere.

If the buyers have received their items and left feedback for them I would ring paypal and tell them so.

Paypal can hold money if there is any fear that there may be a problem but it is usually released when the buyers indicate they have the goods.

If they refuse to release the funds you could try mentioning the Ombudsman....I believe it can be magic for releasing/refunding money that is on hold.

lyndal

iv already provided them with the tracking id's and told them

its very strange this has happened since the buyers have had no complaints with the goods.

first i thought it was normal my account getting limited since i did 3 rapid sales and thought meh account is limited and its just asking for tracking numbers, card details ect.

right after i completed all the fields i log in the next day it now tells me i cannot apeal against the limit, basically no matter what i do now i cant resolve the issue, they wont even tell me what the risk they see is, and rudely they told me if i want to withdraw the money from my account any sooner ill have to summon there department to court or something.

also im unfamiliar with this Ombudsman ?

it could have something to do with the high priced items you have been selling. New seller selling 4 samsung phones with three of the phones selling for more than $600, an iPod and other items in a very short period of time. Your activity may have been 'flagged' by PayPal as risky.

PayPal is a business, they have to protect their interests as well as their customers interests. That does include you and your buyers. I think you are fortunate that they have only frozen $500. They haven't cost you $500, they are just taking precautions.

Posters on these boards generally don't like Paymate, but i have used it as a seller and my customers were perfectly happy about it. I also had multiple bidders on auctions I used it for, so it didnt really turn anybody off.

What I would sayis that I don't use it for this account, being my business account, and I think if you are selling high priced items with low feedback it may make some people suspicious. Although, if your items are desirable enough, and phones probably are, they will sell anyway.

If you decide to use paymate, i would recommend making note of it in the listing so its not a surprise to your buyers. Something along the line of "I accept credit cards via Paymate" and maybe something explaining people don't need to sign up to an account to use it.

i relisted the phone twice since first buyer offered an payment method i did not take and second it was a buyer with 27 feedback all from sellers complaining how the guy doesnt pay for anything.

ACCC is not the place to complain about paypal....go to the Financial Services Ombudsman as previously recommended.

Also, don't rush into opening a new ebay account. It may well be that your ebay and paypal accounts will be unfrozen as soon as you contact the Ombudsman.

Do you have selling limitations as well, due to the PayPal situation? If so, that's not a recommended course of action - using a different account to get around limitations from eBay is a breach of policy and could see all your accounts permanently deregistered.

Some people will hit the back button when they see Paymate because they don't have (or don't use) credit/debit cards - that doesn't make them a scammer. Secondly, I don't see why someone would pay $50 to go through Paymate's buyer protection when the protection they get on the credit card itself is free and wouldn't be limited to a certain amount/number of claims per year.

the best thing about paymate is when you get a buyer who demands paypal-you very quickly know who is a scammer who knows the system and is intent on scamming you through paypal. I make apoint of banning people who demand paypal, or even ask for it. If someone wants something they will use paymate to get it, the ones who hit the back button when they see paymate are the sort of people you don't want to deal with anyway as they will make life difficult for you. What scammer is going to pay $50 to try and scam through paymate when they can do it for free through paypal-that's why they demand it

what a disgusting generalisation, I wont ever use Paymate and I'll hit the back button every time

You prefer paymate because it will cost me too much to claim when you try and scam me X-(

Not this someone...I would simply hit the back button and find someone who did take paypal....I also very much resent being labelled a scammer because I will not use paymate.
